  • Patent number: 11393301
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, systems for enabling physical retail stores and other facilities to implement both automated- and manual-checkout techniques for customers of the stores and/or facilities. For example, the described systems may enable a retail store to implement technology where users are able to pick items from shelves and other inventory locations and exit the store without performing manual checkout of the items, as well as technology to allow users to pay for their items using point-of-sale (POS) and/or other manual-checkout techniques. The systems described herein thus enable hybrid retail facilities, as opposed to a retail facility that is either entirely traditional or entirely enabled for automated checkout.

  • Patent number: 11375855
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a disposable cutting board assembly. The assembly includes a homogenous sheet of cut-resistant paper material having an inner cutting area. A plurality of peripheral outer borders and a plurality of corners extend from said inner cutting area to an endless exterior edge. The inner cutting area, said outer borders and said corners each have a top surface and a bottom surface. A coating of plastic is disposed on said top surface of said inner cutting area, said outer borders and said corners of said homogeneous sheet of paper material. The coating of plastic provides a sterile durable surface to prevent liquid absorption into said sheet of paper material and reduces cross contamination. An embossed pattern is within said inner cutting area. The embossed pattern includes plurality of embossed lines that intersect to form a plurality of repeating geometric shapes. Each of the plurality of repeating geometric shapes include at least one acute angle.

  • Publication number: 20220198704
Abstract: A handheld three-dimensional (3D) measuring system operates in a target mode and a geometry mode. In the target mode, a target-mode projector projects a first line of light onto an object, and a first illuminator sends light to markers on or near the object. A first camera captures an image of the first line of light and the illuminated markers. In the geometry mode, a geometry-mode projector projects onto the object a first multiplicity of lines, which are captured by the first camera and a second camera. One or more processors determines 3D coordinates in the target mode and the geometry mode.

  • Publication number: 20220189316
Abstract: An aircraft includes a flight plan and contingency data including a plurality of contingency landing sites. An aircraft communication system communicates with a ground control station via a communication link and detects a lost communication scenario in response to degradation in the communication link. An aircraft flight control system controls the aircraft en route according to the flight plan. In response to detecting the lost communication scenario, the flight control system routes the aircraft back to a last known location in which the communication link was not degraded. In response to failure to re-establish the communication link, the flight control system selects a landing site based on a current aircraft location relative to a plurality of potential landing sites including an origin airport, a destination airport, and a first continency landing site. The flight control system controls the aircraft to approach and land at the selected landing site.

  • Publication number: 20220189325
Abstract: A method includes selecting a landing waypoint on a runway and selecting a starting waypoint based on a location/heading of an aircraft relative to the runway. The method includes selecting additional waypoints between the starting waypoint and the landing waypoint. The starting and additional waypoints include latitude, longitude, and altitude variables. A sequence of waypoints from the starting waypoint to the landing waypoint via the additional waypoints indicates a desired location for the aircraft to traverse. The method includes generating location constraints for the starting and additional waypoints and generating an objective function for optimizing at least one of the variables. Additionally, the method includes generating a solution for the objective function subject to the location constraints. The solution includes latitude, longitude, and altitude values for the variables.

  • Patent number: 11353496
Abstract: A method is provided for testing discrete output signals of a device-under-test (DUT). The method includes receiving an electrical quantity at each conductive path of a plurality of conductive paths that are each coupled to respective discrete output signals of the DUT in one-to-one correspondence. The method further includes controlling application of the electrical quantity to each of the conductive path independent of application of the electrical quantity along the other conductive paths, so that a the electrical quantity is applied simultaneously to all of the conductive paths, the electrical quantity applied to each conductive path being toggled at a unique frequency having a unique period.

  • Publication number: 20220169208
Abstract: A windshield wiper system has an articulating pivot for wiping a curved glass surface of a vehicle. The articulating pivot has a pivot shaft assembly (64) having a first pivot ball (160) separated by a distance from a second pivot ball (166). The pivot shaft assembly is encased in an outer housing (158) and each pivot ball is supported by a bearing. A pinion gear is integrated with one of the first pivot ball, the second pivot ball, and/or the pivot shaft. A rack gear is integrated into one of the bearings and/or the housing. Rotational movement of the pinion gear along the rack gear articulates the pivot shaft as the pivot shaft is rotated.

  • Patent number: 11232092
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to methods and systems for the timely processing of records exchanged between service provider systems and responsible entity systems by a records management and processing system. More specifically, the records management and processing system can maintain a set of rules defining conditions for processing records and associated actions to affect that processing upon satisfaction of or failure to satisfy the conditions of that rule. Updates to some or all of these records can be received from a data update service. The records management and processing system can apply the rules to the records and assign tags to the records based on the received update information and the conditions defined in the applied rules. The records management and processing system can then process the updated records according to workflows for processing the updated records based on the assigned tags and applied rules.

  • Publication number: 20210390258
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to processing operations configured to provide a linguistic-based approach to evaluating repetition in content of an electronic document. The approach of the present disclosure is about detecting terms/words/phrases that are likely to be perceived as being repetitious by native speakers of a language rather than just identifying the occurrence of identical words or strings in a document as done by traditional language checks. Processing of the present disclosure detects and evaluates terms or phrases using positive linguistic evidence derived from evaluation of linguistic relationships between words in a string in syntactic ways. This results in more accurate and efficient determination as to whether a term is truly repetitious at the linguistic level as compared with traditional language checks.
