  • Publication number: 20080103352
Abstract: In general, the invention is directed to devices and methods that are useful for surface preparation of implantable medical devices. In the case of a vascular graft, the invention presents devices and methods that enhance endothelial cell seeding by providing recesses in the luminal surface that can receive endothelial cells. When the device is constructed of a material such as expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), the recesses may be created by physical processing of the microstructures of the material. The physical processing lifts nodes from the surface, forming recesses that can receive endothelial cells.

  • Publication number: 20080082573
Abstract: A dynamic data-modeling system and a content management framework combined into a high-level application development framework is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system for application development, comprises a data-modeling framework configured to enable a user to define a logical data model. The data-modeling framework dynamically translates the logical data model into a corresponding physical data model. The changes to the logical data model are automatically adjusted in the physical data model accordingly. A content management framework is coupled to the data-modeling framework. The content management framework is configured to provide tools to enable the user to manage content associated with the physical data model based on the logical data model.

  • Publication number: 20080006573
Abstract: An exchangeable filter (10), e.g. for filtering lubricating oil in internal combustion engines, having a housing (11) including a vessel (12), a lid (13) and a seal (25). A filter element (21) is situated inside the housing (11) in such a way that an oil inlet (18) is sealingly separated from an oil outlet (19). The lid (13) has a seal holder (15), in which a groove (27) for receiving the seal (25) is arranged. The seal (25) preferably has a beveled area (26), which projects at least partially beyond the seal holder (15). As a result of this beveled area (26), only small mounting forces are required to mount the exchangeable filter (10).

  • Publication number: 20070164169
Abstract: The present invention provides a model train operating, sound and control system that provides a user with increased operating realism. Disclosed is a novel remote control communication capability between the user and the model trains. This feature is accomplished by using a handheld remote control on which various commands may be entered, and a Track Interface Unit that retrieves and processes the commands. The Track Interface Unit converts the commands to modulated signals (preferably spread spectrum signals) which are sent down the track rails. The model train picks up the modulated signals, retrieves the entered command, and executes it through use of a processor and associated control and driver circuitry. Another novel feature disclosed is a speed control circuit located inside the model train that is capable of continuously monitoring the operating speed of the train and making adjustments to a motor drive circuit.
