  • Publication number: 20190278527
Abstract: A system and method for multifunction peripheral device failure prediction includes a processor, memory and a network interface. The system receives device status data from each of a plurality of identified multifunction peripherals. Service history data for each of the multifunction peripherals is stored in memory. The processor detects anomalies in received device status data and generates predictive device failure data for at least one identified multifunction peripheral in accordance with detected anomalies and service history data. Predictive device failure data can be used to schedule technician visits or add device maintenance to previously scheduled visits. Such scheduling can include scheduling of service to geographically clustered devices.

  • Publication number: 20190272209
Abstract: A system and method for predicting device failures and generating proposed resolutions for such an error when occurs includes receiving device status data from each of a plurality of identified multifunction peripherals into a memory. Service history data for each of the multifunction peripherals is stored, the service history data including data corresponding to a plurality of data patterns associated with prior device failures associatively with resolutions implemented to address such failures. Patterns are detected in received device status data. Device failure is predicted for at least one identified multifunction peripheral in accordance with detected patterns and service history data. The predicted device failure is reported along with at least one proposed resolution to address a device error predicted by the predictive device failure data.

  • Publication number: 20190132211
Abstract: A network function virtualization (NFV) platform can support hybrid and elastic scaling and recovery services. In one example, a system can deploy a cloud virtual network function manager (VNFM) and one or more cloud virtual network functions (VNFs) on a cloud. The system can monitor, via the cloud VNFM, a local VNFM on a local network, the cloud VNFM, and/or the one or more cloud VNFs. Based on the monitoring, the system can determine, via the cloud VNFM, a respective status of the local VNFM, the cloud VNFM, and/or the one or more cloud VNFs. Based on the respective status of the local VNFM, the cloud VNFM, and/or the one or more cloud VNFs, the system can then scale, via the cloud VNFM, the local VNFM, the cloud VNFM, and/or the one or more cloud VNFs.

  • Publication number: 20190028350
Abstract: A network function virtualization (NFV) platform can support virtual network functions (VNFs) whose behavior can change during their lifecycles. For example, a VNF manager of the NFV platform can receive a request to update a condition of a VNF and/or an action to perform upon satisfaction of the condition. Based on the condition and action, the VNF manager can create or store a lifecycle management policy in an extensible lifecycle management model associated with the virtual network function. Based on the lifecycle management policy, the VNF manager can monitor the virtual network function to detect satisfaction of the condition and, in response to detecting satisfaction of the condition, the VNF manager can perform the action associated with the lifecycle management policy.

  • Patent number: 10129206
Abstract: A device is configured to support one or more virtual networking functions at a branch in a network. The device receives from a central control entity a command to deploy a particular virtual networking function, the command including or accompanied by a deployment file that identifies an external port at which the particular virtual networking function is accessed externally at the device. The device maps the external port to an internal port on an internal management network of the device, and stores a portmapping entry for the particular virtual networking function based on the mapping. The device sends to the central control entity a notification containing portmapping information that indicates the internal port to which the external port is mapped.

  • Publication number: 20180077036
Abstract: A stand-alone data collector is configured to obtain configuration data that includes IP addresses to be monitored when the data collector is started. The data collector performs simple network management protocol (SNMP) walks of the management information bases (MIBs) of networked document processing devices associated with the monitored IP addresses to obtain meter data associated with usage of the networked document processing devices. The data collector aggregates the meter data and forwards the aggregated meter data to a network server and other recipients designated in the configuration data. The data collector can be configured to discover networked document processing devices associated with the monitored IP addresses. The data collector can include a chassis that houses a Raspberry Pi-based circuit board that performs the data collection operations.

  • Publication number: 20170269350
Abstract: A circuit and method for driving electrostatic microelectomechanical systems (MEMS) are provided. In one embodiment, the circuit includes a first electrode in a movable element of the MEMS and a second electrode on a surface of a substrate of the MEMS over which the movable element is suspended, and a driver electrically coupled to the first and the second electrodes. The driver supplies a voltage differential between the first and second electrodes to vary an electrostatic force between the electrodes thereby moving the movable element. The driver is configured to supply a voltage pulse having a leading edge in which a first voltage intermediate between an initial, minimum voltage and a maximum voltage is maintained for a first time before rising to the maximum voltage timed to dampen oscillations of the movable element. Other embodiments are also described.

  • Patent number: 9727839
Abstract: A network document processing device includes an embedded controller. The controller monitors one or more document processing devices occurring on the device. The controller is further operable to probe one or more networked document processing devices to determine if it or they are operable to monitoring other network document processing devices. If not, the controller suitably undertakes monitoring of some or all of the networked devices. This monitoring may be concluded when another document processing device becomes active. Multiple document processing devices may also share all or part of monitoring of document processing devices for redundancy, load sharing or integrity checking.

  • Patent number: 9674349
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communications, and more particularly, to a seamless interworking of call control between autonomous systems. In an illustrative embodiment, an electronic device is provided. The electronic device can be connected to multiple autonomous networks, for example, a private network through a Private Branch Exchange and a public network through a Public Switched Telephone Network. The user device can have multiple network interfaces. Alternatively, there can be one network interface to access the autonomous networks. These networks each can provide unique collaboration services. Collaboration services can include, but are not limited to, associations, roles, availability and features. The electronic device can setup connections and initialize a call through both networks. Through the device, each of the networks can add or delete participants to the call under the direction of the user. The networks can also provide the user device with suitable feature keys.
