  • Patent number: 11341847
Abstract: An approach is provided for determining map improvements based on detected accidents. The approach involves determining that a vehicle was involved in an accident. The approach also involves receiving a report indicating map data configured in the vehicle at a time of the accident. The approach further involves determining an association between the configured map data and the accident. The approach further involves performing one or more of the following operations: (1) transmitting the association and/or at least a portion of the configured map data to a database and/or a computing device; or (2) determining at least one map change to the configured map data based on the determined association, and transmitting the at least one map change to the vehicle, at least one other vehicle, the database, and/or the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20220133098
Abstract: A shield for a rolled web material dispenser and that is defined by a body that extends continuously between a first end and a second end, as well as between a pair of respective sidewalls. The first end of body is contoured to secure the body proximate a discharge opening of an enclosure, while second end of body is offset from the first end at a distance that allows body to overlie an exposed tail of web material extending through discharge opening. The pair of respective sidewalls extend in a rearward direction such that the shield flanks the forward facing and opposing edges of the exposed tail of the rolled web material.

  • Publication number: 20220137641
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for generating an autonomous driving profile map index. In this regard, vehicle context data and location data thereof associated with a vehicle traveling along a road segment is received. The vehicle context data is determined based on a transition into a platooning driving profile for the vehicle that establishes a communication connection between the vehicle and another vehicle traveling along the road segment. Furthermore, autonomous driving profile data for the vehicle at the road segment associated with the location data is calculated based on the vehicle context data.

  • Publication number: 20220122456
Abstract: System and methods are provided for generating answers to questions by drivers or passengers of autonomous vehicles in order to better understand the behaviors of other vehicles around them by being able to get contextual answers to behavioral queries. The system receives a user inquiry from a user of the vehicle, the user inquiry related to a behavior of another vehicle in the vicinity of the vehicle. The system analyzes sensor data acquired by the vehicle for a period of time preceding the inquiry and generates an answer to the inquiry based on contextual information of the inquiry, the analysis of the sensor data, and mapping information.

  • Patent number: 11302345
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for vehicle localization via frequency audio features. In this regard, a frequency audio signature of audio data received from one or more audio sensors of a vehicle is determined. Location data associated with the vehicle is also determined. Based on the location data for the vehicle, at least a portion of an audio feature map is selected. The audio feature map stores frequency audio signatures associated with road noise in relation to respective locations. Furthermore, the frequency audio signature of the audio data is compared with the frequency audio signatures of the audio feature map. Based on the comparison between the frequency audio signature of the audio data and the frequency audio signatures of the audio feature map, a location of the vehicle is refined to generate updated location data for the vehicle.
