Abstract: Various implementations include a system for detecting a gunshot. The system includes a device for capturing acoustic data that is potentially sound emanating from an actual gunshot and a processor. The processor includes non-transitory, computer-readable medium including computer-executable instructions. The computer-executable instructions cause the processor to determine whether an acoustic sample contains an ultrasonic burst that corresponds to an ultrasonic signature of an actual gunshot having ultrasonic component sound frequency content in excess of 30 kHz. The acoustic sample is a portion of the captured acoustic data starting at or prior to an initial acoustic impulse within the captured acoustic data and ending at a predetermined sample length. The determination is used to identify an actual gunshot and distinguish it from that of a sound burst that is not an actual gunshot.

  • Publication number: 20250252492
Abstract: A method and a system for dynamic request for quotation (RFQ) pricing using reinforcement learning and symbolic regression in order to obtain a pseudo-optimal nonlinear state-feedback controller for tracking a metric with increased interpretability are provided. The method includes: receiving bid price information and ask price information that relates to a financial instrument; selecting a metric to be used in conjunction with a determination of an RFQ price with respect to the financial instrument; formulating a Markov Decision Process (MDP) that relates to the determination of the RFQ price; using the MDP to define an RFQ pricing controller with respect to the metric; applying a reinforcement learning algorithm in order to tune a behavior of the RFQ pricing controller with respect to the metric; and using the RFQ pricing controller, the first information, and the second information to determine the RFQ price.

  • Publication number: 20250251227
Abstract: A small arms cartridge load that fires bird shot and a full wadcutter bullet. The cartridge is loaded with both a wadcutter and shot. A cup crimped to the casing is used to secure the contents inside the casing. No plastic capsule is needed to secure the shot in place. Removing the plastic capsule prevents the shot from taking the rifling and thus keeping the pattern tighter to extend the effective distance of the shot. The wadcutter can be hard cast to provide greater penetrating force. The load can be effective in deterring varmints or for defensive purposes.

  • Publication number: 20250248693
Abstract: An imaging system (IS), comprising an image acquisition unit (AQ) for acquisition of image data (I1) of an object (OB). The image acquisition is based on an imaging signal imitable by the unit (AQ) to interact with the object. The image acquisition unit (AQ) is adjustable to operate at different acquisition parameters that determine a property of the imaging signal. A predictor component (PC) predicts, based at least on the acquired image data (I1), one or more properties of the object. An acquisition parameter adjuster (PA) adjusts, based on the predicted object properties, the acquisition parameter at which the image acquisition unit (AQ) is to acquire follow-up image data (I2).
