  • Patent number: 6639175
Abstract: A marking device for the creation of an optical mark onto an object has a laser connected to a power supply unit to create a laser beam and a speed acquisition device for determining a positioning speed at which the laser beam follows a repetitive pattern upon the object. The power supply unit has a controlling unit connected to the speed acquisition device which controls the intensity of the laser beam based upon the positioning speed. When the positioning speed decreases the lower predetermined value, the laser beam power is reduced and, if the positioning speed decreases below a minimum positioning speed, the laser beam is switched off.

  • Publication number: 20030116615
Abstract: In a bulk bin having side walls joined to one another at adjacent edges along vertical scores, and bottom flaps joined to bottom edges of the side walls along a flap score, with adjacent flaps separated from one another by a flap slot, a shaped cut is made at the terminal end of the flap slot to redirect stress away from the bottom end of the vertical score and resist initiation of tearing of the vertical score at that point. In one embodiment, the shaped cut is a downwardly open hook shape which terminates in an end pointing laterally away from the vertical score and into the flap. In another embodiment, the shaped cut resembles a modified Greek letter psi (&psgr;), with the ends pointing laterally away from the vertical score, and in still another embodiment, the shaped cut is “T” shaped, with the ends of the “T” pointing laterally away from the vertical score.

  • Patent number: 6560105
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, an open frame circuit assembly mounted on a planar substrate is provided with a composite low flow impedance voltage guard. The composite guard comprises an ESD protective cover portion and a clip portion to capture the cover portion and clip to the circuit board. The cover portion comprises a lower frame member extending peripherally around the assembly, an apertured top member overlying the assembly and a plurality of spaced apart struts supporting the top member from the frame. The top member and struts have rounded surfaces to preserve streamlines in air flowing over the assembly, and all openings and spacings are sufficiently small to preclude accidental human contact with the assembly. Large area portions of the cover portion are preferably made of polymer containing conductive fillers for ESD protection. The clip portion is preferably made of high elongation polymer for secure holding and clipping.
