Patent number: 7866126Abstract: A fold may be made in a conventional box which reduces the amount of packaging material necessary to secure an item in the box. Rear projection televisions may have a thick base and a thin top. Therefore, rectangular boxes may have much space at the top from the front of the box to the back of the box, in particular, when the television is in the carton, there may be substantial space between the back of the top of the television to the back panel of the carton. Typically, packaging material is placed in this space. By placing a fold in the carton along the portion of the box where this packaging material may conventionally extend, the amount of packaging material may be reduced by abutting the packaging material to the fold in the carton instead of the back panel of the carton.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2007Date of Patent: January 11, 2011Assignee: TTE Technology, Inc.Inventor: Michel Cadio

Publication number: 20100323431Abstract: A control circuit and method for controlling a bi-stable display having bi-stable segments each capable of transitioning between an on state and an off state via application of a voltage are disclosed. The voltage is provided to a display driver from a charge pump, and supplied to individual ones of the bi-stable segments via outputs from the display driver in accordance with display instructions provided by a system controller. Both a bi-stable segment voltage level of at least one of the outputs of the display driver and a charge pump voltage level of the voltage are detected and compared to a valid bi-stable segment voltage level and a valid charge pump voltage level, respectively. A malfunction signal may be provided to the system controller if either of the detected voltage levels is not valid. The control circuit is useful in an electronic device such as, for example, a blood glucose measuring device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2009Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: ROCHE DIAGNOSTICS OPERATIONS, INC.Inventors: Paul S. Publication number: 20100312082Abstract: An embeddable module for measuring a blood glucose level may be embedded in an external host and may comprise a host interface, a microcontroller, an ASIC, a temperature measuring element, and a measurement strip port. The host interface may permit electrical communication between the host and the microcontroller. The microcontroller and ASIC may communicate with each other and may work together to measure the blood glucose level of a blood sample. The measurement strip port may receive a removable measurement strip having the blood sample. The ASIC may communicate with the measurement strip port such that the ASIC may receive signals from the measurement strip port related to the blood glucose level of the blood sample. The temperature measuring element may be in electrical communication with the microcontroller and may measure the temperature of the module and transmit signals to the microcontroller related to the temperature of the module.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2009Publication date: December 9, 2010Applicant: ROCHE DIAGNOSTICS OPERATIONS, INC.Inventors: Carol Batman, Blaine Edward Ramey, Timothy Peter Engelhardt, Michel Cadio, Steven Kent Moore, Ricky Lee Collins, Michael L.
