Abstract: An integrated circuit (30) for non-contact operation by means of at least one coil (L) forming a tuned resonant circuit with a tuning capacitor (C.sub.A), including a charge pump (10) with two clock inputs (E.sub.1 E.sub.2), wherein the clock inputs (E.sub.1 E.sub.2) of the charge pump (10) are constantly connected to the terminals of the coil (L), at least during the periods of non-contact operation of the integrated circuit, whereby the charge pump, seen from the clock inputs thereof, is a constant component of the tuning capacitor of the tuned resonant circuit.

Abstract: Encryption circuits and methods, in particular for smart cards, are disclosed. Smart cards without microprocessors may be authenticated very simply by using encryption with a secret card data table on which recursive cycles are executed. During each cycle, a word is read out of the table, said word being at an address that is at least partially defined by the word read out in the previous cycle. The new address preferably consists of several bits from the previous word and a bit from internal card data, external data supplied by a card reader, or a register containing a partial encryption result.

Abstract: An automatic device for cutting the legs of pork carcasses laying transversally onto a conveyor. A support carrier is mounted onto a frame extending close to the conveyor in such a manner as to be movable toward and away from the conveyor. The support carrier supports a circular saw extending in a vertical plane parallel to the moving direction of the conveyor at a sufficient height to cut the legs projecting away from the same. The support carrier also supports a device called "feeler" that is pivotably hung to a horizontal pivot at a predetermined distance from the saw, which corresponds to the average length for the legs to be cut. A control system is operatively connected to a presence sensor mounted in such a manner to detect the legs of the carcasses when these legs reach the feeler. The control system is also connected to a motion detector that detects any swing of the feeler, and to a power jack for moving the support carrier.

Abstract: A detection circuit that does not vary with the supply voltage is formed by measuring the voltage generated at the terminals of a diode (1) which is reverse biased and is supplied by a constant current generator (2). Furthermore, the generator (2) is improved by a current consumption limitation circuit (5). This circuit is particularly designed to be implanted in CMOS technology on the same substrate as a memory circuit or a microprocessor circuit.

Abstract: Shaped articles of agglomerated particulate material are prepared by conveying plates having apertures therethrough on a surface for forming, by reason of the plate apertures and the forming surface, article shaping cells. Particulate material to be formed into the shaped articles is fed into the cells, and then while the plates remain on the forming surface, the particulate material in the cells first is tamped, and then while the plates ascend from the forming surface, the tamped material is ejected from the cells onto the forming surface in a form of shaped articles.

Means are provided for filling the cells with material to be formed into individual articles. Abstract: Cerium and rare earth values are separated from an aqueous medium comprised thereof, by (i) anodically electrolytically treating such aqueous medium and oxidizing the Ce (III) values therein to Ce (IV) values, (ii) extracting said electrolyzed aqueous medium with a selective organic extractant for said Ce (IV) values, and permitting the extracted medium to separate into an organic phase enriched in Ce (IV) values and a product aqueous phase enriched in rare earth values, (iii) reducing the Ce (IV) values in said organic phase to Ce (III) values and admixing same with an aqueous medium, and (iv) permitting said admixture to separate into an organic phase and a product aqueous phase enriched in Ce (III) values.

Abstract: A dispenser of a granular material having a hopper containing the product and, at the base of the hopper, a device for measuring and distributing the product as well as a support to hold the device in elevated position. The device comprises a hollow cylinder and a drum rotatably mounted in the cylinder, the drum being provided with a first and a second cavity defining, at the periphery, two openings disposed side by side and extending transversely of the drum, the opening of the first cavity extending forwardly past the opening of the second cavity in one of the directions of rotation of the drum. Two feed apertures are provided side by side through the drum cylinder and in communication with the inside of the hopper, the cavities being arranged so that their openings be, in feeding position, simultaneously in registry with the feed aperture.
