  • Patent number: 5102107
Abstract: A resilient support for a suspension system of the type comprising two frameworks (1) capable of being fastened to two assemblies between which the support is intended to be interposed. The support includes, as the main resilient element intended for supporting a load, at least one resilient tubular member (3), the axis (y) of which extends perpendicularly to the main direction (z) in which the load is exerted. An elastic material (2) is bonded or fixed on either side of the tubular member (3) for fastening the tubular member to a respective framework.

  • Patent number: 4976412
Abstract: A resilient support with anisotropic stiffnesses is provided particularly for bodywork suspensions, comprising as main resilient element at least one beam (1) extending in a transverse direction (y), the ends (3) of this beam (1) being secured to a first frame (6) adapted to be fixed to one of said assemblies and its middle part to a second frame (11) adapted to be fixed to the other assembly, and in that the cross section of this beam (1) has a shape such that at the level of the second beam (11) it has the desired stiffnesses, particularly in the longitudinal direction (x axis) and in the direction of the main load (z axis).

  • Patent number: 4962232
Abstract: Catalytic process for the manufacture of acid fluoride selected from isobutyryl fluoride, methyl-2 butyryl fluoride, and pivaloyl fluoride from carbon monoxide, hydrogen fluoride, and an aliphatic hydrocarbon stream comprising principally an alkane having 3 to 4 carbon atoms, comprising the following series of stages:(a) introduction of at least one fluid chosen from carbon monoxide and the hydrocarbon stream into a reactor in the presence of a superacidic catalyst system comprising hydrogen fluoride, antimony pentafluoride, and at least one compound chosen from bromine, iodine, bromides, and iodides,(b) where appropriate, if it has not already been introduced during stage (a), introduction into the reactor of a fluid chosen from carbon monoxide and the hydrocarbon stream, under conditions that are suitable to permit the formation, principally, of a complex consisting of the alkyloxocarbonium cation and the anion SbF.sub.6.sup.

  • Patent number: 4934992
Abstract: A power transmission toothed trapezoidal belt comprising a body constituted by an elastomer matrix having a layer of metal cables or of natural or synthetic material textile cords embedded therein for the purpose of providing strength in traction, and also having reinforcing members embedded therein extending substantially transversely relative to the belt, each reinforcing member having a cross-section which is substantially "open" in shape, being somewhat trough- or gutter-shaped, wherein said reinforcing members (21; 32; 33; 35; 36; 41; 51) are individual reinforcing members which are independent from one another, and wherein said reinforcing members are received in the gaps (20) between the teeth of the belt.

  • Patent number: 4915677
Abstract: An endless belt comprising a longitudinal reinforcement formed by a tension resistant member or a plurality of such members, such as cables, made more particularly from metal, glass fibers or any other synthetic material having high tensile resistance, transverse elements of a general trapezoidal form having a base and two lateral fins inclined with respect to the base which is made from metal or any other material having good compression resistance, with an elastomer mass which joins said transverse elements solidly together and with the longitudinal reinforcement, wherein the transverse elements are formed such that, during operation, the resultant of the bearing reaction forces of the cheeks of the pulley on said transverse elements is very close to the mean force transmission line of the longitudinal reinforcement which forms substantially the neutral axis of the belt.

  • Patent number: 4589331
Abstract: An air blower comprising a housing having a through passage for air, a blower and a flow sensing device. The through passage has an inlet end and outlet end. The blower is located in the housing and is operable to draw air into the inlet end of the through passage and to blow air out of the outlet end of the through passage. A blower activator is provided which is operable to detect a flow of air into the through passage. The blower activator communicates with the blower to activate the blower when a predetermined air flow into the through passage is detected and to deactivate the blower when less than the predetermined air flow is detected.
