  • Publication number: 20050172394
Abstract: A cushion system for a washing/bathing tub, comprises a cushion member having an abutment surface adapted to offer support to a user person in the tub. Magnet members are connected to the cushion. The magnet members are adapted to attractingly connect to a surface of the tub to maintain the cushion member in position against the surface of the tub.

  • Publication number: 20050172393
Abstract: An air massage system for a bathtub comprises a blower, an air distributor and the water jets. The air distributor connects the blower to the jets, and the jets are adapted to deliver air under pressure to the cavity defined by the bathtub. The jets include water check valves to prevent the water in the bathtub from entering the air distributor. The air distributor comprises at least one water relief valve for preventing water from reaching the blower, when inoperative, in the event of failure of any one of the water check valves. The air distributor also comprises a main pipe, a manifold and distribution pipes, with the main pipe connecting the blower to the manifold and the distribution pipes connecting the manifold to the jets. The water relief valve is provided on the manifold, and the water check valves are provided on the manifold and at each jet. A pressure relief valve is provided upstream of the jets for keeping a substantially steady pressure from the air propelled by the blower.

  • Publication number: 20050055763
Abstract: A fastener for use in air massage systems used with a bathtub that includes a shell having at least two layers with at least one hole being defined through the shell. The fastener, for instance in the form of a rivet, comprises a hollow body adapted to extend through the hole in the shell and a securing mechanism provided for anchoring the fastener in the hole and for retaining together the layers of the shell. The securing mechanism can comprise enlarged distal and proximal elements provided at opposed ends of the hollow body and adapted to be disposed against inner visible and outer hidden surfaces of the shell. The proximal element includes a decorative head adapted to at least partly overlie the visible surface of the shell.

  • Publication number: 20040083544
Abstract: An air jet of an air massage system used with a bathtub having a wall defining opposite visible and hidden surfaces and defining a number of openings through the bathtub wall. The air jet comprises a hollow body having opposed inlet and outlet ends and a unidirectional flow device disposed therebetween. The outlet end is mounted directly to the hidden surface of the bathtub wall opposite one of the openings. The inlet end is connected to a source of pressurized air. The unidirectional flow device allows pressurized air therethrough only in a direction from the inlet to the outlet end and then through the opening in the bathtub wall, thereby preventing water in the bathtub from conveying through the air jet when the source of pressurized air is not in use. The outlet end comprises a flange provided on a downstream side thereof with recesses for receiving an adhesive for securing the flange to the hidden surface of the bathtub wall.

  • Patent number: 6427257
Abstract: An air massage system of air jets for injecting pressurized air into bathtubs. Each air jet has a hollow body component and an inlet fitting between which is housed a unidirectional fluid flow device. The outlet end of the jet is mounted directly to the hidden surface of the bathtub wall over an air flow opening in the wall, by means of a flange on the hollow body with recesses for holding an adhesive for securing the air jet to the bathtub wall. The flange has an annular seat with blades extending radially outwardly from the seat defining recesses for holding adhesive. The flange has holes between the blades for introducing the adhesive in the recesses. The inlet ends of the air jets are connected to air distribution piping. The air jet has an annular seal between the upstream side of the mounting flange and the inlet fitting.
