  • Publication number: 20100196152
Abstract: A rotary pressure transfer device utilizes a multi-channel, generally cylindrical rotor (15) that revolves with its flat end faces juxtaposed with flat end surfaces of a pair of flanking end covers (19, 21) in which inlet and outlet passageways are provided. The design is such that there are only oblique ramps (65) in the passageways on the high pressure side which create directional flow of liquid to cause rotor revolution in the desired direction. Passageways (27a, 27b) on the low pressure side may be shaped so that there is essentially axial or longitudinal flow entry and discharge of liquid between the channels and the passageways, or passageways (71) may be constructed to create directional flow that slightly retards rotor revolution in such desired direction.

  • Patent number: 7357620
Abstract: A fan assembly that can be used as a cooling fan or an air circulator. The fan assembly can provide the cooling and air circulation functions simultaneously or separately. The intensity of the cooling and/or air circulation can be individually controlled and directed. The fan assembly includes a base unit, a mounting frame rotatably coupled to the base unit, and a plurality of blower housings, each enclosing a fan and coupled to the mounting frame. The mounting frame is rotatable about an axis parallel to the support plane of the base. At least one of the blower housings is rotatably mounted to the mounting frame. The position of the blower housings can be adjusted through the manipulation of a positioning handle that is coupled to the rotatable blower housing.

  • Patent number: 6037015
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coloring pieces of rock, namely marble, by means of the application of a laser beam (2) in order to color-mark or totally color the piece of rock. According to the invention, the laser beam interacts with the piece of rock (5), to which an appropriate coloring is subsequently applied. Diffusion of the pigment in the piece of rock changes its color in the area affected by the laser. The piece of rock takes on the color as intensely as desired. The invention enables marble of a lower value to be made more valuable and increases the value of other rocks and allows them to be colored. This application is mainly intended for the treatment of ornamental rocks.
