  • Publication number: 20180124683
Abstract: A closed subscriber group (CSG) cell is a cell that allows use of subscribers. In order to receive the service by the CSG cell, a CSG-ID is required to be notified to a user equipment, which cannot be obtained in a situation outside the reach of radio waves from a non-CSG cell. In a mobile communication system including base stations respectively provided to a CSG cell and a non-CSG cell in which access is made to the CSG cell with the use of a CSG-ID issued in a case where use of the CSG cell is allowed, the base station provided in the CSG cell refers to the notified identification information of a user equipment and then transmits a tracking area update request from the user equipment to a core network, and the core network determines whether the user equipment is allowed to use the CSG cell and, in the case where the use is allowed, transmits a signal for allowing assignment of radio resources to the user equipment and the CSG-ID. The user equipment accesses the CSG cell with the use of the CSG-ID.

  • Patent number: 9955363
Abstract: A communication system is provided that, if a large number of small cells are installed, is capable of configuring an operation suitable for small cells through simple operation and administration. If a small cell installed in Step ST1401 judges in Step ST1403 that a coverage macro cell, which includes the small cell in the coverage of the coverage macro cell, is present as a result of neighbor cell search in Step ST1402, notifies the coverage macro cell and another neighbor cell of its own capability in Steps ST1404 and 1405. The coverage macro cell selects a configuration parameter suitable for the capability of the small cell in Step ST1406 and notifies the small cell in Step ST1407. The small cell recognizes an operation mode configured by the coverage macro cell from the configuration parameter notified from the coverage macro cell, and then, starts operating in the operation mode.

  • Publication number: 20180110027
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a communication system capable of avoiding congestion in downlink communication or uplink communication and a shortage of radio resources arising therefrom. In the present invention, in a communication system including a normal user equipment (normal UE) that performs human to human communication and a machine type communication device (MTCD) that performs machine to machine communication, a base station device transmits a paging message to the normal UE and the MTCD for calling the normal UE and the MTCD. The paging message contains, for example, an equipment identity (UE-ID). A maximum number of equipment identities (UE-IDs) that can be accommodated within this paging message is set individually for the normal UE and the MTCD. Alternatively, the paging message contains a calling indicator in place of the equipment identity of the MTCD (UE-ID of MTCD).

  • Publication number: 20180103400
Abstract: A UE in an idle state selects any of a group A, to which a cell of which coverage its own device is in, belongs and a group different from the group A, for example, a group B, and then measures cells belonging to the selected group for selecting a cell being a re-selection destination. A UE in a connected state selects any of the group B to which a cell connected with the UE belongs and a group different from the group B, for example, the group A, and measures cells belonging to the selected group for handover.

  • Patent number: 9936450
Abstract: A communication system includes a base station configuring an energy saving cell (ES cell) and a base station configuring a compensation cell (Comp cell). The ES cell is switchable between a switch-on state and a switch-off state. The Comp cell compensates for the coverage of the ES cell when the ES cell is in the switch-off state. Before the Comp cell starts compensating for the coverage, for example, before the ES cell decides to switch itself off in Step ST2101, in Step ST2201 for example, the base station configuring the ES cell notifies the UE being connected with the ES cell of the information about a Comp cell, for example, a Comp cell list.

  • Patent number: 9930639
Abstract: Since OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), which is a downlink access scheme used for an LTE (Long Term Evolution) communication system, is weak at interference, it is preferable that the number of base stations for transmitting the same E-MBMS (Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) data base not excessive. Thus, the mobile terminal performs: processing of obtaining measurement quality values by measuring reception quality of each base station; processing of deciding on whether the measurement quality value of a serving base station exceeds a certain receiving level; processing of adding measurement quality values of other base stations to the measurement quality value of the serving base station until the sum exceeds the certain receiving level; and processing of notifying the serving base station of the serving base station and other base stations as candidates for an active set for E-MBMS.

  • Publication number: 20180070257
Abstract: In a communication system, an eNB and a UE transmit and receive a UE monitoring message for confirming the state of the UE in a predetermined UE monitoring period. For example, in UE monitoring periods, a UE monitoring procedure is performed, so that the UE transmits the UE monitoring message to the eNB. Upon receipt of the UE monitoring message, the eNB transmits delivery confirmation information to the UE. The UE monitoring period is set as, for example, a period shorter than a TAU period. This allows the UE monitoring process to confirm the state of the UE even if the TAU period is lengthened. The eNB may transmit the UE monitoring message to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20180041324
Abstract: A mobile communication system capable of preventing interference in a communication system as well as reducing the load of a user equipment in a search operation. In the mobile communication system, radio communication is performed using a carrier having the same frequency in a direct link between a donor cell and a user equipment being served thereby and an access link between a relay node and a user equipment being served thereby. In a backhaul link between the donor cell and the relay node, radio communication is performed using a carrier having a different frequency from that of the carrier used in the direct link and the access link.

  • Patent number: 9887826
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a communication system capable of minimizing effects due to a delay among a plurality of base station devices as much as possible in scheduling for communication with a terminal device in cooperation among the plurality of base station devices. Cells1 to 3 can each perform scheduling without using information for scheduling notified from one or a plurality of cells among pieces of information for scheduling notified from other cells. For example, in a case where an interface between the cell1 and cell3 has a large delay amount, the cell1 performs scheduling without using information S13 notified to the cell1 by the cell3, and the cell3 performs scheduling without using information S11 notified to the cell3 by the cell1.

  • Publication number: 20180020419
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a mobile communication system capable of performing communication between a user equipment device connected to a relay device and a core network if the relay device moves. An RN (1508) sets a TA of an eNB to be connected with the own device as a TA of the own device. For example, when the RN (1508) moves along an arrow (1500), the TA of the RN (1508) is changed from a first TA (1601) to which a fourth eNB (1525) belongs to a third TA (1602) to which a tenth eNB (1505) belongs. Upon change of the TA of the RN (1508) as described above, a user equipment device (UE; 1509) transmits a TA update request signal of the own device to a target second MME (1501).

  • Publication number: 20170311314
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a communication system of improving the communication quality in a case where a plurality of communication devices having different sizes of ranges coexist, in which communication with a terminal device is possible, to thereby improve an entire throughput. In a case where a remote radio head (RRH) is installed in a coverage of a macro cell, an uplink resource transmitted from a user equipment (UE) to the macro cell, that is, an uplink carrier frequency band UL1 of the macro cell in a portion surrounded by a solid line is received not only by the macro cell but also by the RRH. Then, the macro cell combines a reception signal regarding the uplink resource of the macro cell, which has been received by the macro cell, and a reception signal regarding the uplink resource of the macro cell, which has been received by the RRH.
