Patent number: 12277433Abstract: Systems and methods for setting virtual machines (“VMs”) to desired configurations while the virtual machines are running. In some systems, a user can select a VM and a desired configuration. An agent can then set an attribute of the virtual machine to indicate that on guest operation system (“OS”) reboot of the VM, the VM will enter BIOS mode. The agent can also store the desired configuration in the database based on authenticating the user. When the VM reboots at a future time, the attribute can cause the VM to enter BIOS setup. The agent can be notified and can retrieve the desired configuration from a database using an identifier for the VM. Then the agent can apply the desired configuration to the VM during BIOS setup with a system process that does not require further user authentication.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2021Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: VMware LLCInventors: Daniel Beveridge, Ed Shmookler, Heath Reynolds, Mike O'Reilly, Pascal Laroche, Sean Lambert, Pranay Pareek, Amarnath Raghunathan, Steve Tilkens, Mark Peek, Yuriy Georgiev

Patent number: 11733047Abstract: Exemplary methods and systems provide for production of geographically located, accurate indoor maps of physical spaces and provide navigation guidance for users in physical spaces, and process requests for users related to available physical space within said physical spaces. Aggregated information about the physical spaces is curated and converted using automated procedures into a data model that contains all elements of said physical spaces, including geographic data about the physical space's location on the globe. The system and computer program embodiments retrieve the converted data, load it on mobile devices or computers, rendering it on these devices in the correct global geographic context, allowing users to interact with the data to select rooms, and send and receive requests to and from external systems regarding these selections. Users navigate within the physical spaces using mobile devices and the computer program embodiments in tandem to provide accurate directions and guidance.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: LOKION INTERACTIVE, LLCInventors: Christopher Fitch, Sam Lee, Kevin Yancy, Vaskin Kissoyan, Mike O'Hearn, Dale Smith, Douglas O'Brien, Patrick Miller, Marcus Stafford

Publication number: 20230124283Abstract: A cleaving assembly and a method for cleaving a glass rod and end cap having diameters of at least 125 ?m and a face at a desired angle greater than 0 degrees are disclosed. The assembly comprises a laser device for emitting a laser beam, a rotating device, and a positioning fixture. The rotating device has a head that rotates about a central axis that is orthogonal to the laser beam. The positioning fixture is operatively mounted to the head and centered axially along the central axis and is also rotatably driven by the rotating device. The positioning fixture has a tapered surface that is transverse to the central axis and that supports the glass rod at a predetermined angle relative to the central axis. Rotation of the positioning fixture about the central axis when the glass rod and end cap is exposed to the laser beam, cleaves the face at the desired angle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2022Publication date: April 20, 2023Inventors: Duane Dinkel, Sean Kelly, Mike O'key, Camden Druga

Publication number: 20230115162Abstract: A cleaving assembly and a method for cleaving a glass body having a face at a desired angle greater than 0 degrees are disclosed. The positioning fixture has a tapered surface that is transverse to the central axis and that supports the glass body at a predetermined angle relative to the central axis. Rotation of the positioning fixture about the central axis when the glass body is exposed to the laser beam, cleaves the face of the glass body at the desired angle due to the glass body being supported transverse to the central axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2021Publication date: April 13, 2023Applicant: OpTek Systems, Inc.Inventors: Duane Dinkel, Sean Kelly, Mike O'Key, Camden Druga
