  • Patent number: 6388982
Abstract: A spindle motor inclination angle adjusting mechanism in an optical disk apparatus including a spindle motor. The spindle motor is mounted on a motor base (122) in such a manner as to be tiltable in a direction around a second tilt movement axis. The motor base is mounted on a chassis in such a manner as to be tiltable in a direction around a first tilt movement axis. The spindle motor is urged in the directions around the first and second tilt movement axes by a leaf spring. By turning adjuster screws, the spindle motor is moved backward against the resilient force of the spring, thereby effecting adjustment of the inclination angle thereof in the directions around the first and second tilt movement axes independently.

  • Patent number: 6002659
Abstract: A movable guide for receiving a caddy is provided movably in the loading and unloading directions on a main chassis. The movable guide is moved by a drive mechanism from an eject position to a disk drive position. An arrangement is made so that by an action of front and rear guide pins engaged in front and rear cam slits of the main chassis, when the movable guide is at the eject position, a turntable of a traverse unit disposed below the main chassis is spaced by a predetermined distance from a disk and, as the movable guide is moved in the loading direction, approaches gradually to the disk and, when the movable guide reaches the disk drive position, the turntable is attracted to the disk. The turntable approaches the disk upwardly relatively from beneath the disk and is attracted smoothly to the disk by a series of continuous operation.

  • Patent number: 5875168
Abstract: A first adjusting base made of a leaf spring material is supported on a holder in such a manner that the first adjusting base crosses the moving direction of the holder and is slightly pivotable about a first pivot axis which is parallel to a disk surface. A second adjusting base made of a leaf spring material is supported on the first adjusting base in such a manner that the second adjusting base crosses the first pivot axis and is slightly pivotable about a second pivot axis. The first and second adjusting bases are biased in a slightly pivoting direction by their own elasticity and, by turning screws which restrict the biasing, the first and second bases are pivoted to adjust the direction of an optical axis of a pickup head. Shaking of the pickup head is prevented and shock to the pickup head is absorbed by elasticity of the first and second adjusting bases whereby the device can be made compact and light.

  • Patent number: 5784349
Abstract: There is generated a rhythm corresponding to a designated tempo and meter of a music piece to be recorded. Performance of a musical instrument is started at specific timing according to the generated rhythm, and the musical information resulting from the performance is recorded onto an MD (Mini Disk). The address on the MD read out when the performance of the music piece is started is retrieved as a start address of the music piece. After the recording, the retrieved start address is recorded onto the UTOC (User's-table-of-contents) area of the disk along with the designated tempo and meter. By reading out the start address, tempo and meter to calculate a measure number and start address of a desired measure on the basis of the read out information, display of a measure number being currently reproduced and quick access to the starting point of any desired measure can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5724332
Abstract: A disk loading system includes a disk drive and a disk loading adaptor. The disk loading adaptor is composed of a tray member and a case member, between which is formed an internal space for receiving an information recording disk. The tray member can be pulled to slide away from the case member while the case member remains held in the disk drive, so that the loading adaptor is opened to allow the operator to access the disk.

  • Patent number: 5590100
Abstract: Program information of plural channels is recorded on an optical magnetic disk in such a manner that the program information can be simultaneously reproduced together from the disk. Once other program information is overwritten on part of any of the recording channels of the disk that has become unnecessary, a UTOC generation/UTOC recording/UTOC memory controlling section generates UTOC information that designates the overwritten section as a position to be reproduced and a section other than the overwritten section as a position to be silenced or muted, and records the generated UTOC information onto the UTOC area of the optical magnetic disk. As reproduction from the optical magnetic disk is performed, the UTOC information is read out so that reproduction signal is output at the position to be reproduced, and silence signal is output at the position to be silenced.

  • Patent number: 4802158
Abstract: In a disc cartridge player of a type in which a cartridge housing the disc is loaded in the player for playback of the disc, a disc clamping device for clamping the disc on a turntable of the player includes a magnetic attraction generating device which is constructed by forming at least a part of either one of a disc stabilizer provided in the disc cartridge on the turntable from a magnet and the other from a magnetic substance. The magnetic attraction generating device can also be constructed by forming at least a part of both the disc stabilizer and the turntable respectively from a magnet. The provision of the magnetic attraction generating device enables reduction of a force of a spring urging a clamper for pressing the disc stabilizer with resulting reduction of a drive force for operating the clamper in a release direction in an eject mode and, in some case, even obviates the necessity for providing the clamper itself.

  • Patent number: 4777631
Abstract: In a disc playback device in which a disc cartridge case housing a disc is loaded in a disc cartridge case holder of a main body of the device and this holder is moved from a disc non-playback position to a disc playback position for playing back of the disc, a loading system for a disc cartridge case comprises a curved surface portion formed in a corner portion on the side of the disc cartridge case from which the case is inserted into the holder and an uncurved surface portion formed in a corner portion on the side opposite to the side from which the case is inserted into the holder. A case erroneous insertion blocking member having an engaging portion is provided on the holder. If the case in its correct insertion posture is inserted into the holder, the engaging portion of the blocking member cooperates with the curved surface portion of the case to permit the case to be inserted into the holder.

  • Patent number: 4739428
Abstract: In a disc playback device of a type in which a disc or a disc cartridge case housing a disc is loaded in a holder and the disc is played back upon moving of this holder from a disc loading position to a disc playback position, magnetic attraction generating means is provided for attracting the holder and a chassis carrying a turntable to each other. The magnetic attraction generating means may be constructed by securing a magnet to either the chassis or the holder and forming the other with magnetic substance, or may be constructed by securing magnets to both the chassis and the holder. The holder is securely clamped in position when it has been moved to the disc playback position and anti-vibration characteristics of the holder are thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 4730299
Abstract: In a disc playback device of a type in which a turntable is connected to a disc motor shaft, a device for preventing vibration of the disc motor shaft comprises magnetic biasing means for generating a magnetic force biasing the disc motor shaft in an axial or radial direction of the shaft. The magnetic biasing means is constructed by securing one of magnetic substance and a magnet to the turntable and disposing the other below the turntable or securing one of two magnets to the turntable and disposing the other magnet below the turntable. For preventing vibration of the disc motor shaft in the radial direction, a yoke plate is fixed to the magnet in such a manner that a part of the yoke plate is positioned on the lateral side of the magnetic substance or the other magnet.

  • Patent number: 4694448
Abstract: A disc case is constructed for receiving a disc on which information data are recorded and for supporting the disc rotatably in the disc case. The disc case can be set into a reproducing apparatus with the disc received in the disc case. The disc case receives the disc releasably. When set into the reproducing apparatus, while the disc case is fixed in position within the reproducing apparatus, the disc is driven in rotation and thus the information data are reproduced by the reproducing apparatus. The disc case comprises a disc case carrying mechanism for carrying the disc case in cooperation with the reproducing apparatus so as to be loaded or unloaded to the reproducing apparatus.
