Abstract: A disc case is constructed for receiving releasably a disc on which information data are recorded and for supporting the disc rotatably in the disc case, and can be set into a reproducing apparatus with the disc received in the disc case. The disc case comprises: a first case member having a disc receiving area on its central portion; a second case member associated with the first case member to be able to open and close the disc receiving area; and locking means having first and second locking members, a first locking member being formed integrally on one of the first and second case members and a second locking member being formed integrally on the other of the first and second case members and locks the first and second case members in a closed state with the disc receiving area closed in cooperation with the first locking member. The second locking member has an opening button which elastically deforms the second locking member and release the locking of the first and second case members when operated.

Abstract: A shutter plate control device in a disc playback device energizes a shutter plate in a disc magazine case with opening and closing members provided in a main body of the disc playback device. The opening member engages with a shutter lever provided on the shutter plate in loading of the disc magazine case to move the shutter plate in a direction for opening an aperture formed in the disc magazine case for exposing the disc to a pickup head to enable the pickup head to read date recorded on the disc. The closing member engages with the shutter lever in loading of the disc magazine case to be displaced by the shutter lever and thereby permit the shutter lever to pass by without moving the shutter plate while it engages with the shutter lever in ejecting of the disc magazine case to move the shutter plate in a direction for closing the aperture.

Abstract: A disc reproducing apparatus for reproducing a disc which is received in a disc case, and on which optical information data are recorded. The disc case can be set into the reproducing apparatus with the disc received in the disc case. When set into the reproducing apparatus, while the disc case is fixed in position within the reproducing apparatus, the disc is driven in rotation and thus the optical information data are reproduced by the reproducing apparatus.
