Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for a media guidance application that can cause a specific portion of a media asset to be stored based on a user command. For example, if the user requests the closing scene from a given movie, the media guidance application may detect the command, determine that it comprises an instruction to store a portion of a media asset, identify a source of the portion of the media asset, and cause the portion of the media asset to be stored. The media guidance application may also cause the entirety of the media asset to be stored and initiate playback at the start of the requested portion. This may allow users to store and watch portions of particular interest without requiring that the users seek through the entire media asset on their own.

Abstract: A method comprising: a Service Centralized and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) receiving, from a first WTRU, a collaborative session request to replicate a media flow to a second WTRU; the SCC AS authorizing the request; the SCC AS allocating a media resource at a media resource function (MRF) for the media flow; the SCC AS establishing a second-WTRU access leg; the SCC AS updating a first-WTRU access leg for the first WTRU; and the SCC AS updating a remote leg to communicate the replicated media flow to the MRF, wherein, unless the remote party rejects the replication of the media flow, the media flow then flows from the remote party to the MRF, from the MRF to the first WTRU, and from the MRF to the second WTRU.

Abstract: Methods and systems are discussed herein for navigating media content using scrollable displays. For example, scrollable displays may provide an efficient user interface in order to increase the amount and type of content that can be presented to a user, particularly with regard to small displays. For example, instead of transitioning to new displays, which may require larger display screens or the removal of already presented content, the methods and systems disclosed nest scrollable displays within each other in order to enable a user to efficiently access and navigate content options without large display screen requirements.

Abstract: A method of replicating a media session in a Service Centralized and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS), the method comprising receiving a collaborative replication session invite request from a second wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), performing authorization of the collaborative replication session invite request, allocating a media resource for a replicated media flow, transmitting a response for the replicated media flow in a media resource function (MRF) to second WTRU, updating an access leg on a first WTRU for the replicated media flow with the MRF, and updating a remote leg for the replicated media flow in the MRF.

Abstract: Techniques for inter-user equipment (UE) transfer (IUT) are disclosed. An application server may receive an IUT request for transfer of a media session toward at least one initial UE such that the media session is to be played by at least two target UEs. The server may determine eligibility for IUT with group synchronization based on the request. The server may send a message to the initial UE that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is not allowed. Further, the server may trigger inter-destination media synchronization (IDMS) for group synchronization of media sessions among the UEs on a condition that IUT with group synchronization is allowed. The media sessions may include a first media session and second media session. The media stream may be played by at least two UEs that are geographically separated after the transfer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for inter-user equipment (UE) transfer (IUT) of collaborative session control and session information between WTRUs. A collaborative session control transfer request including ongoing session information is transmitted prior to transfer of session control from one WTRU to another WTRU. Ongoing session information may include information regarding media flows and devices involved in the session. A media control transfer response is transmitted in response to the transfer request.

An application server receives an IUT request for transfer of a media session toward at least one UE such that a media stream is played by at least two UEs that are geographically separated after the transfer. The application server triggers inter-destination media synchronization (IDMS) for group synchronization of the media session among the UEs. The media stream may be anchored at a media server, and a media synchronization application server for the IDMS may be running at the media server. Alternatively, the media stream may be anchored at a media resource function (MRF), and a media synchronization application server for the IDMS may be running at the MRF.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for performing Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) operation. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) registers an IMS service priority with an IMS network. The IMS service priority indicates the WTRU's priority in receiving IMS services. The WTRU may receive an IMS service from the IMS network based on the WTRU's IMS service priority. The IMS service priority may be indicated using a priority value and the WTRU may use Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messaging to signal with the IMS network. The WTRU may register the service priority value using a q-value parameter in an SIP Contact field header. The WTRU may also register a public user identity with the IMS network and the public user identity may be shared with other IMS-capable WTRUs.

Inter-WTRU transfer request messages, flow addition request messages and session update request messages may be exchanged between a plurality of WTRUs and a session continuity control application server (SCC-AS). Each of the messages may include a session description protocol (SDP) attribute line containing time synchronization information (e.g., a presentation time offset (PTO) information element (IE), a media flow group identity (ID) and a synchronization tolerance IE). The SCC-AS may update the time synchronization information and include the updated information in messages it sends to the WTRUs, which may re-synchronize their respective media flows based on the updated time synchronization information.

Abstract: Embodiments contemplate methods and systems that may route an emergency call from an enterprise user and/or a user in a private number plan, or an emergency call that may be initiated by a service on behalf of the user. Architectural extensions to the IMS emergency services architecture may allow an emergency call to be handled in a home network or a local network in which the user may be visiting (e.g., roaming) such that appropriate public safety systems may be apprised of the emergency communication.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a network storage control peer (NSCP) supporting peer to peer (P2P) operation are disclosed. The method includes receiving a content map request message and transmitting a content map response message including an indication that a CDN-stored content piece is available from the NSCP; and, receiving a content fetch request message for the content piece and transmitting a response message including a redirection command and the CDN URI for the content piece.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a network storage control peer (NSCP) supporting peer to peer (P2P) operation are disclosed. The method includes receiving information from a tracker, wherein the information includes swarm stats, selecting and joining a swarm based on the received information, receiving a first stat report from the tracker, wherein the stat report includes additional swarm stats, determining whether to upload information to an ingestion gateway based on the received first stat report, transmitting an upload request message to the ingestion gateway, receiving an upload response from the ingestion gateway, and transmitting a second stat report to the tracker; wherein the second stat report includes a uniform resource identifier (URI) for the uploaded information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing content storage subsystems in a communications network are disclosed. The communications network is equipped with a plurality of content storage subsystems. The content storage subsystems store local copies of content to facilitate the delivery and distribution of the content to wireless transmit/receive units, WTRUs. The network, which is equipped with a proxy server and an entry server, receives requests for content or general-purpose data referencing content and determines whether the content is stored in the storage subsystems. In addition, the network also performs content ingestion in order to store copies of the content in the storage subsystems and content modification in order to move content from one storage location to another to achieve optimal content storage and distribution.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying public safety answering point (PSAP) callbacks by transmitting, by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in a first network, a registration message, to a PSAP in a second network. Upon registration, the WTRU receives a registration response including an information element (IE) and stores the IE. The PSAP, which may be located in either an internet protocol (IP) Network or a public switched telephone network (PSTN), transmits an emergency callback to the WTRU and includes the IE.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for interworking between a mobile network operator and an application provider are disclosed. A network application function (NAF) may be co-located with an OpenID provider such that an application server may communicate with the NAF to access a home subscriber server (HSS) via a bootstrapping server function (BSF). The interfaces between BSF and HSS, and between BSF and NAF may be enhanced to carry information that is available through Sh interface between the application server and the HSS. When the WTRU is roaming in a visited network, the application server may communicate with the visited network for charging and policing for serving the service request from the WTRU. The application server may be co-located with an NAF, and may authenticate the WTRU using Generic Bootstrapping Architecture, and may communicate with a BSF in a home network via an eZn-proxy function to access an HSS.

Abstract: A tracker application server (AS) instructs a content cache server (CCS) to join a peer-to-peer (P2P) swarm based on the status of the P2P swarm. The tracker AS determines whether to invite a CCS to join the P2P swarm be based on an underlying network condition change, a peer node joining or leaving the P2P swarm, change(s) in traffic condition, location, capability or workload of the peer node(s) in the swarm. The tracker AS sends an invitation message to the CCS, indicating the content of interest and a peer list identifying the peer nodes of the P2P swarm. Upon receiving the invitation message from the tracker AS, the CCS sends a response to the tracker AS. Upon receiving a response indicating the acceptance of the invitation, the tracker AS puts the CCS into the P2P swarm, and the CCS joins the swarm using a P2P protocol.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for managing and/or enforcing one or more policies for managing internet protocol (“IP”) traffic among multiple accesses of a network in accordance with a policy for managing bandwidth among the multiple accesses are disclosed. Among the methods, systems and apparatus is a method that may include obtaining performance metrics associated with the multiple accesses. The method may also include adapting one or more rules of one or more the policies for managing IP traffic among the plurality of accesses based, at least in part, on the performance metrics and the policy for managing bandwidth among the plurality of accesses. The method may further include managing IP traffic associated with at least one wireless transmit and/or receive unit (“WTRU”) among the plurality of accesses responsive to the adapted rules.
