  • Publication number: 20120257598
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for performing a selected Internet protocol (IP) traffic offload (SIPTO) procedure. A network node, (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) or a serving general packet radio service (GPRS) support node (SGSN)), may receive a packet data network (PDN) connectivity request from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). A determination may be made to perform SIPTO at a local network, and the WTRU may perform a PDN release and reconnection procedure. The determination may be based on at least one of a closed subscriber group (CSG) identity (ID), a home evolved Node-B (HeNB) ID or a local network ID. An access network discovery and selection function (ANDSF) may be queried for IP interface selection (OPIIS) rules, a local access point name (APN) that supports per flow SIPTO at a local network, and IP flows that may be routed to the local APN.

  • Publication number: 20120244844
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to provide privacy for inter-user equipment transfer (IUT) subscribers and remote parties involved in sessions with IUT subscribers. A first UE may establish a session with a remote party. The first UE may seek to perform an IUT to a second UE. The first UE may send a first request for the IUT to a service centralization and continuity application server (SCC AS). The SCC AS may receive the first request and perform an authorization. The SCC AS may determine that the requested IUT is allowed for the session. The SCC AS may send a second request to the remote party indicating the requested IUT. The remote party may evaluate the second request and may accept or reject the second request.

  • Publication number: 20120236842
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for synchronizing mobile station (i.e., wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) media flows during a collaboration session. Inter-WTRU transfer request messages, flow addition request messages and session update request messages may be exchanged between a plurality of WTRUs and a session continuity control application server (SCC-AS). Each of the messages may include a session description protocol (SDP) attribute line containing time synchronization information (e.g., a presentation time offset (PTO) information element (IE), a media flow group identity (ID) and a synchronization tolerance IE). The SCC-AS may update the time synchronization information and include the updated information in messages it sends to the WTRUs, which may re-synchronize their respective media flows based on the updated time synchronization information.

  • Publication number: 20120184238
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying public safety answering point (PSAP) callbacks by transmitting, by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in a first network, a registration message, to a PSAP in a second network. Upon registration, the WTRU receives a registration response including an information element (IE) and stores the IE. The PSAP, which may be located in either an internet protocol (IP) Network or a public switched telephone network (PSTN), transmits an emergency callback to the WTRU and includes the IE.

  • Publication number: 20120169825
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to provide pre-negotiation of a video codec. An IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) entity, such as a service centralization and continuity application server (SCC AS), may send a first session initiation protocol (SIP) message to a circuit switched domain entity via an IMS core network. The first SIP message may correspond to a video call in an on-going IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) session. The first SIP message may include one or more video codecs supported by the SCC AS and the UE associated with the video call. The SCC AS may receive a second SIP message from the circuit switched domain entity. The second SIP message may include the video codec, which may be one of the video codecs included in the first SIP message. The SCC AS may send the video codec to a user equipment (UE) associated with the video call.

  • Publication number: 20120143984
Abstract: Techniques for inter-user equipment (UE) transfer (IUT) are disclosed. An application server receives an IUT request for transfer of a media session toward at least one UE such that a media stream is played by at least two UEs that are geographically separated after the transfer. The application server triggers inter-destination media synchronization (IDMS) for group synchronization of the media session among the UEs. The media stream may be anchored at a media server, and a media synchronization application server for the IDMS may be running at the media server. Alternatively, the media stream may be anchored at a media resource function (MRF), and a media synchronization application server for the IDMS may be running at the MRF.

  • Publication number: 20120083240
Abstract: Embodiments contemplate methods and systems that may route an emergency call from an enterprise user and/or a user in a private number plan, or an emergency call that may be initiated by a service on behalf of the user. Architectural extensions to the IMS emergency services architecture may allow an emergency call to be handled in a home network or a local network in which the user may be visiting (e.g., roaming) such that appropriate public safety systems may be apprised of the emergency communication.

  • Publication number: 20110216701
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for performing Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) operation. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) registers an IMS service priority with an IMS network. The IMS service priority indicates the WTRU's priority in receiving IMS services. The WTRU may receive an IMS service from the IMS network based on the WTRU's IMS service priority. The IMS service priority may be indicated using a priority value and the WTRU may use Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messaging to signal with the IMS network. The WTRU may register the service priority value using a q-value parameter in an SIP Contact field header. The WTRU may also register a public user identity with the IMS network and the public user identity may be shared with other IMS-capable WTRUs.

  • Publication number: 20050049005
Abstract: A mobile telephone for displaying graphically enhanced images. The mobile station has a display for displaying images as directed by a processor. At the user's request a displayed image will be graphically enhanced using an algorithm that takes into account audio inputs being received by the mobile station, either though its normal voice microphone or though another dedicated to this function. The audio input may also be input received previously and stored, and may have been received from another device for the purpose of sharing the visualization experience. The graphically enhanced image is displayed for the user's entertainment and changes as the audio input changes. The image itself may have been captured by the mobile station if it is capable of doing so, or it may have been received over the Internet or another network, or selected from a collection stored on the mobile station itself.

  • Publication number: 20020160815
Abstract: The present invention encompasses an electronic device operated in a communication system (for example CDMA, TDMA, GSM, etc.). The electronic device comprises a method that adjusts a dialing sequence, used to initiate a call, based on the current location of the electronic device. The method adjusts the dialing sequence to add any missing information, such an area code, country code, etc., thereby allowing the user to only provide a minimum length of dialing sequence when placing a call to a called party. Also, if the dialing sequence is represents one of the emergency numbers, then the method adjust the dialing sequence to use an emergency number used within a region defined by the current location.
