  • Patent number: 4787687
Abstract: A mechanical device for displaying newspapers for self-service free access by prospective readers is provided in modular form, which in one preferred embodiment may sufficiently resemble the newsrack from which USA TODAY newspapers are vended as to cause prospective newspaper readers to make the connection. In the preferred embodiment the construction is modular, including at least one open-front, open-top box body-like bin with an interior back panel. The bin may be mounted on a pedestal or on a countertop, or it may be hung from a wall. Other similar bins may be stacked on the first and connected with it. A header panel, upstanding at the top rear of the uppermost bin may be used for a display copy of the paper. The bins preferably are molded of structural framed plastic resin.

  • Patent number: 4768659
Abstract: Merchandising unit for stacked row gravity feed consumer product display and self service access, including a merchandise shelf having a rearward product display top surface and a forward product access top surface disposed in angularly offset relation to the display surface, the shelf being mountable horizontally on a support such that the display surface extends angularly forwardly and downwardly and the access surface extends angularly forwardly and upwardly for location of a supply of manually removable consumer products in successively stacked row gravity feed condition on the access surface and upwardly along the display surface, and a spacer assembly comprising bearing regions for positioning the spacer assembly on the shelf, upwardly facing contact surface regions positioned in upwardly spaced relation to the access surface for engaging the underside of an adjacent consumer product thereabove, and a cavity formation interposed in downwardly spaced relation to the contact surface regions and in upwardl

  • Patent number: 4540093
Abstract: A display hook for the presentation of items upon a vertical supporting surface consists of a product support member and an overlying front channel support arm. The front channel member is adapted to receive consumer-oriented information upon its front face and store personnel-related information upon its rear face. The front channel member is pivoted upon the support arm such that the normal position of the channel allows viewing.

  • Patent number: 4531311
Abstract: In a data information display device for use with products displayed in a shelf environment. The unit includes a bracket which is designed to mount either adhesively to the front edge of a shelf or by adhesive or other gripping means to a typical ticket rail mounted on the front edge of a shelf. Depending from the bracket is a support member which rotatably carries a data-carrying member having two surfaces, the front surface carrying information for a consumer of the goods and the rear surface carrying information used by store personnel for reorder purposes. The unit normally hangs in a position with the consumer information visible. By simple rotation of the member of the data-carrying member the store reorder information becomes visible and, when utilized, the supporting force is removed and the data-carrying member resumes its normal position.

  • Patent number: 4454410
Abstract: An analog computer for solving and displaying an answer to a multivariable problem includes a bottom plate upon which a matrix of the solution set to the problem appears. Overlying the bottom plate is a series of aperture plates, corresponding in number to the number of variables. Each plate is provided with an aperture dimensioned to display the solution subset corresponding to the solution to the problem for a variable value as set by the positioning of the plate. When each plate is so positioned, the solution to the problem defined by the variable values set appears through all the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4344367
Abstract: A modular display system unit for beverage bottles includes a base assembly and at least two spaced apart upright supporting webs detachably connected to the base assembly. A plurality of shelf assemblies are positioned for support between the webs. Each shelf includes a novel top surface sheet to minimize friction forces between the shelf and the bottles to provide a gravity feed capability when the shelves are tilted forward. Brackets are provided for detachable connection to the webs for adjustably supporting the shelf assemblies between the webs at varying heights and angles of inclination with respect to the longitudinal axis of the webs. The webs include an arrangement of keyhole slots, preferably on both sides thereof, but on at least one side, which serve to support the brackets. The arrangement includes a row of central keyhole slots having their axes aligned with each other and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the web.

  • Patent number: 4310097
Abstract: A gravity feed combined display and storage unit for use in a professional salon type environment. The unit is divided into a plurality of compartments separated by a series of bottle supports, T-shaped in configuration, which includes an upright divider member and outwardly depending shoulders. The supports slope dowwardly from the back to the front of the unit where they abut a plurality of bottle stops. The sides of the shoulders are spaced apart a sufficient distance, to support a bottle by the underside of its angle and neck feed, the bottle supports being positioned at a sufficient height so that the bottles hang free and clear from any base surface. The shoulders terminate a sufficient distance from the back wall to that bottles may be placed in the rear, the shoulders supporting a number of bottles. The bottle stops terminate just below the shoulders and the bottle neck, exposing the entire front panel.
