Abstract: Disclosed herein are NPN-type low molecular aromatic ring compounds, organic semiconductor layers formed from such compounds that exhibit improved electrical stability and methods of forming such layers using solution-based processes, for example, spin coating processes performed at or near room temperature. These NPN-type compounds may be used, either singly or in combination, for fabricating organic semiconductor layers in electronic devices. The NPN-type aromatic ring compounds according to example embodiments may be deposited as a solution on a range of substrates to form a coating film that is then subjected to a thermal treatment to form a semiconductor thin film across large substrate surfaces that exhibits reduced leakage currents relative to conventional PNP-type organic semiconductor materials, thus improving the electrical properties of the resulting devices.

The apparatus for implementing an IPSec engine in IXDP2851 which is an IXP2850 network processor development platform, includes: a packet classifier/forwarding microblock classifying packets into an inbound packet and an outbound packet, using received packet information; determining whether IPSec processing should be performed on the inbound packet and the outbound packet, and performing packet forwarding on a packet not requiring the IPSec processing; an outbound IPSec processing microblock; an inbound IPSec processing microblock; and an IPSec forwarding microblock receiving packet information of a packet subjected to IPSec processing and performing forwarding on the corresponding packet.

Abstract: An adjustable chaotic signal generator using pulse modulation for UWB communications, and a chaotic signal generating method thereof are provided. The chaotic signal generator for UWB communications includes a plurality of pulse generators which generates pulses of different frequencies; at least one combiner which combines the pulses generated at the pulse generators; and a plurality of local oscillators which receives signals from the combiner, respectively, and generates a chaotic signal by increasing the received signals to different frequency bands. Accordingly, a plurality of users can conduct the radio communications in a specific wireless communication range at the same time by generating the chaotic signal that can be split to the multiple channels. Also, the chaotic signal generator is structured using devices integratable on an integrated circuit.

Abstract: A method and arrangement is provided for estimating an initial value for an internal battery temperature of a vehicle using a four zone process that determines which of a predetermined set of time zones correlates with a measured period of time for an engine of the vehicle being in an engine-off condition. Once the time zone is determined, an initial estimated value of the internal temperature of the battery is determined as a function of a set of parameters correlated with the determined time zone. The set of time zones include a holding time zone, a model based estimation time zone which is greater in time than the holding time zone, a first self-adjustment zone which is greater in time than the model based estimation time zone, and a second self-adjustment time zone which is greater in time than the first self-adjustment time zone.

Abstract: An ultra wideband antenna is provided that filters a predetermined frequency signal. The ultra wideband antenna includes a power feeding part that receives a supply of an external electromagnetic energy; a radiator excited by the electromagnetic energy fed through the power feeding part and radiating an electromagnetic wave; and a stub, provided on the radiator in a direction parallel to a direction of an electric field formed by the electromagnetic wave, that intercepts transmission/reception of a predetermined frequency band signal. The length of the stub may be ¼ of a wavelength of the intermediate frequency of the predetermined frequency band to be removed to filter the corresponding frequency band signal. The ultra wideband antenna simplifies the construction of an ultra wideband receiving system with the power loss and noise characteristics of the system improved.

The method and apparatus further comprising a mode memory for storing the plurality of communication modes in response to the degree of noise, and a mode change control unit for reading current noise information from the noise information memory and selecting the communication mode corresponding to the current degree of noise from the mode memory, and changing the current communication mode into the selected communication mode. The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for highly reliable data communication with simplified construction.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an organic thin film transistor comprising a substrate, a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer, an organic semiconductor layer, source-drain electrodes and a protective layer wherein a buffer layer is interposed between the organic semiconductor layer and the protective layer. Such a transistor minimizes the deterioration in the performance of the transistor due to ambient air containing oxygen and moisture, and the degeneration in the performance of the transistor caused during mounting a display device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel O-acyloxime derivatives, a preparation method thereof and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The O-acyloxime derivatives according to the present invention may valuably be used for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as hyperlipidemia, coronary arterial heart disease, atherosclerosis, and myocardial infarction caused by Lp-PLA2, because they have excellent inhibitory effect of Lp-PLA2.

Abstract: A facsimile machine has a key input part having a plurality of operation keys, a communication unit for communicating data with an exterior facsimile, a storage unit for storing an emergency message and at least one facsimile number, and a control unit for reading out the emergency message from the storage unit as any one operation key is selected among a plurality of operation keys on the key input part under the emergency notice mode. The control unit further directs the communications unit to transmit the emergency message to at least one registered facsimile numbers. Thus, even a person who has a poor recognition of a telephone number or numbers and requires care by other people, can easily send out an emergency message to a guardian at a remote place by a simple key operation.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a composite-structured organic semiconductor polymer for an organic thin film transistor which contains quinoxaline rings in the backbone of the polymer. According to the organic semiconductor polymer, since quinoxaline rings having n-type semiconductor characteristics, such as high electron affinity, are incorporated into a polythiophene having p-type semiconductor characteristics, the organic semiconductor polymer simultaneously exhibits both p-type and n-type semiconductor characteristics. In addition, the polythienylquinoxaline derivative exhibits high solubility in organic solvents, co-planarity and stability in air. Furthermore, when the polythienylquinoxaline derivative is used as an active layer of an organic thin film transistor, the organic thin film transistor exhibits a high charge carrier mobility and a low off-state leakage current.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for systematically calibrating an engine misfire detection system for an internal combustion engine. The present invention provides a method of collecting a plurality of groups of sample data points. Each of the groups of sample data points represents a cylinder firing event. Optionally, misfire events can be induced during the collection of the groups of sample data points. Using the collected data points, a plurality of compensation parameters is then generated and applied iteratively to the sample data points to generally optimize the detection of misfire occurrences. Compensation parameters that produce a high accuracy misfire detection are selected and can be exported from the calibration system to transport to an engine controller in an internal combustion engine.
