    Abstract: Methods and apparatus of resource allocation (RA) for low cost machine communication type (LC-MTC) user equipments (UEs) are provided. A UE obtains one or multiple sets of resources in a mobile communication network. Each set of resources belongs to a narrow sub-band in a wider channel bandwidth, wherein the narrow sub-band comprises a plurality of contiguous physical resource blocks (PRBs). The UE determines a first set of resources from the one or multiple sets of resources based on a physical layer control signaling and transmits or receives radio signals using the first set of resources within a predefined duration. In a coverage extension mode, the UE determines a second set of resources according to a hopping pattern, while the first and the second sets of resources are occupied for transmission at different radio subframes. The UE then transmits or receives radio signals using the second set of resources.

The second transmitter transmits a current wireless signal through the wireless multipath channel impacted by a current event in a current time period associated with the current event.

    Abstract: Methods are provided for HARQ with channel repetitions. In one novel aspect, the user equipment (UE) receives the resource grant and determines the type of the grant as being the initial resource grant or the secondary resource grant. The initial resource grant carries full control information and the secondary resource grant carries partial control information. In some embodiments, the determination of the type of the grant is based on the RNTI or the payload size. In another embodiment, the UE performs data retransmission based on information from the secondary resource grant and the initial resource grant. In another novel aspect, the UE receives higher layer, such the RRC layer. The UE subsequently receives UL or DL secondary resource grant for both initial transmission and the re-transmission. The UE combines the parameters in the UE-specific configuration and the received secondary resource grants for its UL transmission or DL reception.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for paging enhancement for the UE in the LC-MTC mode. In one embodiment, the paging message occupies a predefined narrow band resource blocks without control information. In another embodiment, MPDCCH is used as control message to schedule narrow-band paging messages. In one embodiment, the MPDCCH searching space comprises a paging narrow-band selected from the set of narrow bands based on a UE ID. In another novel aspect, methods for PO detection are provided. The UE obtains a set of common paging narrow-bands from a higher layer configuration, determines a paging occasion to monitor paging message, decodes paging messages within the obtained common paging narrow-band, and performs combination.
