  • Patent number: 8645290
Abstract: A non-transitory computer readable storage medium includes instructions to maintain an original training set of labeled documents, where the labeled documents correspond to a variety of topics. A new labeled document corresponding to a new topic is received. The original training set of labeled documents is modulated such that the new labeled document is over-represented with respect to the original training set. This results in a modulated training set. A classifier is trained with the modulated training set to form a trained classifier.

  • Patent number: 8345839
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a system and method for automating the exchange of information between the multiple personal computerized devices of an entity so as to provide context for communications, such as incoming and/or outgoing telephone calls, with other entities. The system and method associate one entity with multiple devices. Communications over a device (e.g., one of the various types of telephones) are tracked. Then, for a given communication, an identifier (e.g., a caller ID from an incoming telephone call) is communicated to at least one other device. The other device performs a local and/or internet search for information associated with that particular identifier. The retrieved information is then displayed so as to provide the entity with essentially instantaneous context for the given communication. The system can be implemented using client-server network technology or, alternatively, using point-to-point communication technology.

  • Patent number: 7813485
Abstract: An interactive visual menu system seamlessly integrates an interactive visual menu with an audio menu provided in an interactive voice response system. The system augments a voice menu by displaying the content of the voice menu to a caller. The system assumes that the caller is placing a call near an interactive device such as a computer and the user is logged onto the interactive device using, for example, instant messaging. The system “pushes” a graphical menu through the Internet onto the interactive device. Display of the graphical menu is synchronized with the audio menu. The caller selects the desired choices either by pressing the phone keypad or by clicking on graphical menus on the interactive device; both voice and visual information are updated accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7792800
Abstract: Upgrading an original repository of data is disclosed. A repository is defined by a set of schema structures and data contained therein. A copy of the original repository is exported. The set of schema structures of the original repository is modified to create a set of schema structures of the upgraded repository. Schema structures that are not present after the upgrade are deleted after data migration is completed. Data is migrated to the set of schema structures of the upgraded repository. Data includes existing data from the original repository and seed data for the upgraded repository. Existing data is copied into the appropriate schema structures of the upgraded repository. Seed data is inserted into new schema structures of the upgraded repository. The set of schema structures of the upgraded repository are validated against a standard set of schema structures corresponding to a properly upgraded standard repository to detect any errors.
