Abstract: The present invention provides a method for detecting a molecular event, comprising (1) applying an electromagnetic test signal to a sample in which a molecular event is being detected, whereby the sample interacts with and modulates the test signal to produce a modulated test signal, and (2) detecting the modulated test signal, wherein the applying and detecting take place in a temperature-controlled environment, wherein the temperature-controlled environment comprises the sample, a radiating portion of a signal generating circuit, and a receiving portion of a signal detection circuit and wherein the applying and detecting take place in the environment at a temperature controlled to within ±0.5° C.

Abstract: A cordless telephone set having a base unit and handset units and enabling communications using a channel selected from a plurality of channels. The cordless telephone set comprises apparatus for storing a specified number of channels selected by the telephone apparatus and storing historical channel use data. Whether or not a channel is unused is determined and channels used with high frequency with the data stored in the first storage are changed to those used with low frequency according to the historical use data. Channels that are stored are progressively specified prior to a start of call and a specified channel is selected, if it is determined that the channel is an unused one.

Abstract: This invention relates to the fields of microbiology and antibiotics. Particularly, it relates to a new mutant strain, a method of its mutation breeding, to a monocomponent Gentamicin C.sub.1a produced by this strain which is used as mother nucleus of semisynthetic antibiotic 1-N-ethylgentamicin C.sub.1a, and to compositions composed of semisynthetic 1-N-ethylgentamicin derivatives as active component and pharmaceutically acceptable accitives and their manufacturing methods.
