  • Patent number: 11263024
Abstract: In example implementations, methods to optimize a BIOS of a computer and an apparatus to perform the same is provided. The method includes detecting a change to the computer. A current BIOS configuration is compared to an optimized BIOS setting associated with the change. A setting of the current BIOS configuration is configured to match a corresponding setting of the optimized BIOS configuration. The computer is then operated with the optimized BIOS configuration associated with the change.

Inventors: Fu-Jyu Guo, Ming Chang Hung, Hung Lung Chen
  • Publication number: 20210365561
Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a computing device is described. The computing device includes a printed circuit assembly and a basic input/output system (BIOS) coupled to the printed circuit assembly. The BIOS includes a subsystem identifier (SSID). The computing device also includes a non-volatile memory device which includes an override flag to indicate whether an override of the SSID is enabled and a protected variable value to, when enabled, override the SSID in the BIOS.

  • Patent number: 10983925
Abstract: An example non-transitory machine-readable medium may store instructions, which may be executable by a processing resource. The instructions may be executable by a processing resource to cause a computing device to store a configuration profile update in a data structure associated with an interface communicatively coupled to the processing resource, determine, during runtime of the computing device, that a peripheral device is connected to the computing device, and update a configuration profile of the peripheral device using the configuration profile update stored in the data structure.
