  • Publication number: 20110313085
Abstract: A zero-halogen flame-retardant compound and continuous materials extruded therefrom comprise poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), fire-retardant ingredients melamine cyanurate (MC) and melamine polyphosphate (MPP), and an organo titanate coupling agent. The coupling agent acts as a dispersion agent to the fine powders of PET, MC and MPP and also allows the resin of the fine powders to be compounded at a reduced temperature which prevents degradation of the PET. The compound can be extruded as a thin film, sheet or tubing, and also as a filament or yarn, including monofilaments and multifilaments, which can ultimately be used to construct a protective sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20110123511
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of suppressing the transcriptional expression of one or more genes by methylating the chromatin histone proteins of the one or more genes. Specifically, a viral SET domain histone lysine mehtyltransferase (vSET or vSET-like protein) methylates lysine 27 of a gene's histone protein 3 (H3-K27) thereby suppressing the transcription of the gene.

  • Publication number: 20100249184
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of inducing cancer cells into dormancy and treating cancer in a subject. This method involves administering to a subject an effective amount of a compound that disrupts interaction between urokinase plasminogen activator receptor and integrin, thereby including cancer cells into dormancy and treating cancer in the subject. Also disclosed is a method of disrupting interaction between integrin and urokinase plasminogen activator receptor on cancer cells. The present invention also relates to a method of screening for compounds effective in inducing tumor dormancy and treating cancer in a subject.

  • Publication number: 20090278650
Abstract: An inductor includes a casing, a coil and a core. The casing is provided with a slot. The coil is constituted of a first terminal, a bottom ring, a top ring and a second terminal. The first terminal is formed into a T-shaped strip and is partially inserted into the slot. The bottom ring wraps from a distal end of the first terminal. The top ring wraps from the distal end of the bottom ring and is overlapped on the bottom ring. The distal end of the top ring is bent downwardly to be located at the outside of the bottom ring. The second terminal extends from the distal end of the top ring and is partially inserted into the slot. The shape of the second terminal is the same as that of the first terminal. All of the first terminal, the bottom ring and the top ring have the same cross-sectional area. The core penetrates the coil and is accommodated in the casing.

  • Publication number: 20090256666
Abstract: An inductor includes a casing, a coil and a core. The casing has an accommodating chamber. The casing is provided with two holes in communication with the accommodating chamber. The coil is accommodated in the accommodating chamber. The coil includes a first terminal, a first ring wrapping from a distal end of the first terminal, a second ring wrapped from a distal end of the first ring, and a second terminal extending from a distal end of the second ring. The second ring is formed at the outer periphery of the first ring and extends obliquely and downwardly. The second terminal and the first terminal penetrate through the two holes respectively. The core is disposed in the coil and is accommodated in the accommodating chamber. Via the above arrangement, the vertical space of the present invention can be reduced so as to be made more compact.

  • Patent number: 7600539
Abstract: A low profile fold protective textile sleeve for bundling elongate members has longitudinally and laterally interlaced monofilament warp and fill yarns. Flat profile monofilaments are employed in the warp direction and round monofilaments in the fill direction. The flat monofilaments are considerably wider than they are thick, and provide the sleeve with flexibility and bending out of the plane of the sleeve. The round monofilaments may be sized so that their diameter is about the same as the thickness of the flat monofilaments, and they can be bundled together so that the effective width of each bundle approximates the width of the flat monofilament yarns with which they are intertwined. The round monofilaments are heat-set along at least a portion of their length to provide biased living hinge regions of the sleeve, while also lending strength and stiffness to the sleeve along the fill direction.
