    Abstract: An antenna device includes an enclosure defining a receiving compartment and having a back forming a mounting seat for mounting to a fixture and an end forming a connector for connection with a coaxial cable. A reflection case, which is received in the enclosure, includes reflection plates set around the case and has a bottom stamped to form partially cut tabs that are bent upward by an angle of approximately 90 degrees. The diamond-shaped antenna is composed of two quadrilateral antenna boards received in the reflection case and fixed to the bent tabs and has a central portion to which a waveguide is coupled for connection with the connector of the enclosure through a coaxial cable. The enclosure is closed by a cover plate to protect the diamond-shaped antenna from direct exposure to severe weather.

A raised metallic plate is configured in the center on a first major side for avoiding the coupling effect from current converging in the center and for overcoming the dielectric loss by using air. A ferrite core is configured at the feeding terminal of the antenna as a means of impedance conversion. A SMD inductor and a SMD capacitor are provided on the other major side for increasing the antenna's capability of receiving signals of larger wavelength.

    Abstract: A multi-directional panel antenna is provided for the reception of TV broadcast VHF and UHF signals. The panel antenna's circuit board has its current path substantially covers the surface of the circuit board so as to produce multi-directional reception patterns. An iron-core winding is configured at a feed-in terminal of the panel antenna for impedance matching and signal concentration. The panel antenna also uses air to reduce dielectric loss. A MMIC signal amplification device is provided for enhanced gain. Ceramic capacitors are provided to increase the reception wavelength of the panel antenna so that it falls within a lower section of the VHF band.

The reception plate contains a curved piece and two wing pieces bended 90 degrees downward from the curved piece. The waveguide element is attached to a back side of the reception plate and is connected via a coaxial cable to a terminal threading through the through openings of the reflection box and the case. The cover tightly seals the case by a ring washer sandwiched therebetween and a waterproof plug sleeves over the terminal.

When the GPS outputs a next GPS coordinates, the controller calculates a next reference coordinates subject to the azimuth signal outputted from the Gyro sensor and the vehicle speed signal outputted from the vehicle speedometer and calculates the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates, and then assigns the GPS coordinates to be the next accurate coordinates for output when the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates surpasses a reference distance, or assigns the next reference coordinates to be the next accurate coordinates for output when the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates is smaller than or equal to the reference distance.

    Abstract: An in-vehicle computer system includes a host computer, a mode switch and a backup microprocessor. When the host computer functions ordinarily, the mode switch is in a regular mode as a default, and the host computer uses various graphical interfaces on a display to control the operations of electronic devices implemented in a vehicle. The electronic devices can include a digital versatile disc (DVD) player, an MP3 player and a global positioning system (GPS). When a total failure of the computer occurs, the mode switch is switched to a backup mode, and the host computer is replaced by the backup microprocessor to control a backup graphical processor to extract backup graphical interfaces from a backup storage medium for graphical processing and further presentation on the display. Thus, a driver can continuously control the corresponding electronic devices through the backup graphical interfaces on the display.

If yes, the vehicle-mounted mainframe sends a request command to the part to obtain the part identification code. The vehicle-mounted mainframe determines if the part identification code meets with the control identification code. If yes, the vehicle-mounted mainframe produces a normal operation signal to enter a normal operational mode and feedbacks the identification code to the customer service center. The customer service center checks with a database for stolen events.
