    Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry with first and second receivers. Each receiver may include circuitry for receiving radio-frequency signals using a first radio access technology (RAT) and using second or additional RATs. The wireless circuitry may perform system selection in which the receivers attempt to acquire a signal transmitted by a base station using different RATs. The first receiver and the second receiver may concurrently perform system selection in which the first receiver performs a band scan over the first RAT while the second receiver concurrently performs a band scan over a second or additional RAT. Additional band scans may be performed as needed until a signal is acquired. Once a signal is acquired, the wireless circuitry may establish cellular communications with the wireless base station based on the acquired signal. This may minimize the amount of time required to begin cellular telephone communications in many situations.

Depending on the interference type, the DL transmit power may be a fixed, full power DL transmission or an adjusted DL transmission.

The method identifies at least one separating cell in a cell cluster, the cell cluster including at least two cells having a common TDD subframe configuration, where a coupling loss between one cell in the cell cluster and at least another cell in the cell cluster is lower than a predefined threshold. The method separates the cell cluster based on the at least one separating cell into at least a first cell cluster and a second cell cluster and sets a first TDD subframe configuration for the first cell cluster and a second TDD subframe configuration for the second cell cluster.

The different UL-DL configuration may be transmitted by, for example, a pseudo-uplink grant to the UE, which indicates that the UE is to reconfigure one or more flexible subframes from uplink to downlink transmission.

One or more other cells may be added to a virtual logical cell cluster with the first cell when the level of interference coupling is between a second threshold and the first threshold, the second threshold being less than the first threshold.
