Abstract: Apparatus and methods for extending functionality of memory controllers in a processor-based device are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a processor-based device provides a memory access intercept circuit that is communicatively coupled to a memory controller and a memory device. The memory access intercept circuit is configured to receive a memory write request that is directed to and received by the memory controller, and generates a write transaction identifier (ID) for the memory write request. The memory access intercept circuit then generates proxy write data containing the write transaction ID, and sends the proxy write data to the memory controller. The memory access intercept circuit subsequently intercepts the actual write data directed to the memory controller, and stores the write data in a write data buffer in association with the write transaction ID.

Abstract: A system and apparatus to index healthcare provider cards are described. Patients and healthcare providers are classified into separate profile categories with similar but different information. Patients are presented an index of healthcare providers that best fit their search criteria and healthcare providers are presented an index of patient that best fit their search criteria. The patients and healthcare providers sequentially make an indication of whether they wish to match with each individual presented. When patients and healthcare providers indicate they wish to match with an individual, the individual receives a request. If the individual approves the request, a match is formed. When a patient and healthcare provider match, they are then able to communicate with one another.

Abstract: A joint connection structure of a building framework includes a column assembly including a column and a pair of side plates attached to the column on opposite sides of the column and extending laterally outward from the column. A beam assembly includes a beam having an end portion received between the side plates. At least one of the column and the beam has an opening in an area between the side plates to provide access for bolting at least one of the side plates to one of the column and the beam. The opening is free of a fastener extending through the opening when the column assembly is attached to the beam assembly.

Abstract: Smart fertilizers and method of using and manufacturing are provided that include nanocarbon solution mixed with nanocomposite hydrogels at predetermined percentage weight or volume ratio (% w/w or % v/v). The resulted smart fertilizers are characterized in biosensors for detecting electricity conductance (EC) and/or pH degree of the surrounding soil caused by the release of ATPase H+ from the plant roots and in bioactuators for chemically reacting with the surrounding hydron ions to release the nutrients once the biodetectors detect the stimuli conditions.

Abstract: A locking assembly for use in building construction includes a locking body configured to be mounted on a first modular building unit and extend in a first direction away from the first modular building unit. The locking body is configured to receive and engage another locking assembly of a second modular building unit for locating the first modular building unit and the second modular building unit with respect to each other. A locking extension is configured to be mounted on the first modular building unit and extend in a second direction, opposite the first direction, away from the first modular building unit. The locking extension is configured to engage another locking body on a third modular building unit to lock the first modular building unit to the third modular building unit.

Abstract: A module for use in constructing a building includes a ceiling assembly. Wall assemblies are configured for attachment to opposite sides of the ceiling assembly generally at tops of the wall assemblies. A floor assembly is configured for attachment generally to bottoms of the wall assemblies. Connector plates are attached to the wall assemblies. The connector plates are configured to receive fasteners for attaching the ceiling assembly and floor assembly to the wall assemblies. A method of construction using the modules is also disclosed.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for rake receiving in a quadrature bandpass-sampling RF receiver is provided. The receiver bandpass-samples and quantizes an RF signal to provide an in-phase bi-level digital signal based on an in-phase clock and a quadrature bi-level digital signal based on a quadrature clock. The in-phase clock frequency and the quadrature clock frequency are equal to the RF signal carrier frequency. The quadrature clock is ninety degree out of phase with respect to the in-phase clock. The delayed bits in both the in-phase digital signal group and the quadrature digital signal group are maximal-ratio combined to provide diversity gain.
