  • Publication number: 20070200772
Abstract: An antenna configuration for a flip type mobile phone is disclosed. The antenna configuration is designed to reduce, to a hearing aid compatibility (HAC) M3 rating or better, any scattered EM field effects that can cause interference to an active hearing aid. The antenna configuration comprises a halfwave type antenna extendable from the lower portion of the mobile phone. The antenna does not share the same vertical axis as the lower portion of the mobile phone when extended. Rather, it forms a tilt angle (?) that extends the antenna away from the upper portion of the mobile phone creating a greater separation distance between the speaker and the antenna. An antenna feed contact couples the antenna to components within the mobile phone. An antenna matching network can tune and attenuate the antenna configuration to enhance operation in the GSM frequency bands.

  • Patent number: 7151438
Abstract: A system for providing in response to changes within current operational data of a business enterprise, alert information including an alert to a wireless device in real-time. The system architecture includes an enterprise application integration services component for accessing and conditioning the current operational data and other business intelligence information. An analytics services component monitors for changes within the current operational data from a predetermined target level and communicates an alert and alert information if a change occurs. The analytics services component also extracts contextually-related first and second sets of critical business information, and converts the operational data, alert and alert information, and the first and second sets of critical business information into a device-independent, web-enabled format, which is then recoded by a delivery services component in accordance with the data delivery requirements of the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20060254121
Abstract: A fishing bobber for use with a fishing line terminating in a hook is disclosed. The bobber has a body floatable in water and a pair of elongate arms projecting from opposite sides of the body, said pair comprising a first arm to which said line is secured in use and a second arm. The centre of gravity of said bobber can be adjusted such that, in use and in the absence of external forces, the bobber is balanced so as to float in the water with its arms projecting substantially horizontally, and said hook is suspended by the line a user-selectable depth beneath the body. When a fish applies tension to the line, the bobber tips such that the first arm portion extends downwardly from the body; and when a fish releases tension from the line, the bobber tips such that the first arm extends upwardly from the body.

  • Patent number: 4878114
Abstract: A relatively low cost processor based optical system is used to carry out the method. An area of the surface whose roughness is to be assessed is illuminated by a light source, and a reflected light is directed to the lens of the video camera. The analog output of the video camera is digitized, and the digital signal is provided to a processor which performs an analysis to provide a parameter indicative of the roughness of the surface.

  • Patent number: 4542998
Abstract: A printing apparatus is provided which utilizes rolling pressure contact for printing, and includes a plurality of sets of serially arranged character elements mounted for movement on the external surface of a printing drum. Movement of the sets to place a desired character into printing position is accomplished by controlling the speed of a motor driving a pulley connected by cable to a given character set, relative to the speed of a motor driving the printing drum in rotational movement.
