  • Publication number: 20140052910
Abstract: A storage control device configured to control a storage device includes a first disk which is in active state and a second disk which is in standby state. The storage control device includes a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit transmits a read-out request or a write request to the storage device and receives a response to the read-out request or the write request from the storage device. The control unit controls the communication unit so that the communication unit transmits a rotation start command which instructs a start of rotation of the second disk to the storage device, when a time to the point when receiving the response to the read-out request or the write request transmitted to the first disk which is in active state is longer than a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 7953215
Abstract: The present invention relates to address-information changing and allows for changing automatically address information registered with a communication destination. Upon receiving a change notification transmitted from a communication terminal device including a mobile phone or the like with changed profile information, address information relating to a source-communication terminal device is changed in a destination-communication terminal device including another mobile phone or the like and a response notification indicating a result of the change is transmitted. Subsequently, the communication terminal device with the changed profile information can change the address information of the communication destination and confirm the changing of the address information. Further, the address information can be changed automatically and the changing can be confirmed automatically.

  • Patent number: 7595886
Abstract: A wavelength monitor includes the following elements. An optical divider divides a beam of measured light into first and second divided beams of measured light. An interfering element converts the first and second divided beams of measured light into first and second parallel beams of measured light to cause interference between the first and second parallel beams of measured light with each other thereby generating an interfered beam of measured light. A light receiving element way including a plurality of light receiving elements receives the interfered beam of measured light. An interference signal converting unit receives output signals from the light receiving element array to generate interference signals different in phase by 90 degrees from each other. A signal processing unit receives the interference signals from the interference signal converting unit to obtain a wavelength of the measured light from the interference signals.

  • Patent number: 7476990
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a linear actuator in which reliability is improved, and performance is also easily improved. The present invention provides a linear actuator including a stator, a movable element having an iron member, and being reciprocatable with respect to the stator, a permanent magnet fixed to the stator so as to be opposed to the iron member, and a coil fixed to the stator. Because both the coil and the permanent magnet are fixed to the stator, electrical current does not have to be supplied to the movable element, and the feeder lines connected to the coil will not be broken due to the movement of the movable element. In addition, the weight of the movable element will not be increased even when the weigh of the permanent magnet is increased in order to obtain high magnetic flux density for improvement in performance. Moreover, because the movable element does not include a magnet, a magnetizing operation does not have to be applied to the movable element.
