  • Patent number: 7586230
Abstract: In a commutator of a rotary electric machine, each of commutator segments has a low-resistive layer made of a low-resistive material and a high-resistive layer made of a high-resistive material having a specific resistance higher than that of the low-resistive material. The low-resistive material contains a carbonic material and a binder. The high-resistive material contains a carbonic material, a binder and an inorganic substance such as boron nitride. A mixing ratio of the inorganic material to the high-resistive material is more than 20 wt %. Alternatively, a brush, which makes contact with the commutator segments, can have the high-resistive layer and the low-resistive layer.

  • Publication number: 20090033875
Abstract: A method includes generating a plurality of beams that each illuminate a separate portion of a spatial light modulator. The spatial light modulator has a first dimension of a first length and a second dimension of a second length. Each of the beams spans a portion of the first length of the first dimension and a portion of the second length of the second dimension. The method also includes scrolling the plurality of beams along the second dimension of the spatial light modulator while maintaining at least a first gap between each of the plurality of beams.

  • Patent number: 7379619
Abstract: A digital keystone correction process locates image points in a corrected image from image points in a distorted image that was produced by misalignment of the axis of a sensor such as a camera. The correction process locates corrected image points by constructing intercept points that are the intersections of the extended sides of a quadrilateral in the distorted image plane that is constructed from a known rectangular feature in the subject plane. Reference points are located by drawing a line through each intercept point and the distorted image point. Distances are found from the intercept points to the image points and the reference points. The distances are scaled and corrected with an offset to locate the coordinates of the image points in the corrected image plane. This process can correct alignment errors of pitch, yaw, and roll between the subject plane and an image plane such as photographic film.

  • Patent number: 6380986
Abstract: A method of obtaining a motion vector in moving images is based on evaluation of computational results of searches made by matching a target template and a group of pixel blocks each having a same size as the target template. The steps include: 1) searching in a wide area and obtaining a reference vector to indicate an overall image movement; 2) searching in narrow areas centered about the reference vector for all templates in the target image, and obtaining a displacement vector for each template in relation to the reference vector; and 3) summing the reference vector and the displacement vector for each template, and assigning a computed result as a motion vector in each template.

  • Patent number: 6277468
Abstract: The present invention provides a paper-laminated metal sheet having a structure in which at least one sheet of paper is laminated on at least one side of a metal plate via a pressure sensitive adhesive agent or an adhesive agent layer, and a protective layer is formed on a top surface of the paper-laminated side. With this structure, the paper-laminated metal sheet can be processed without wetting the paper with water, while thereby preventing the paper from being torn. In addition, the aesthetic appearance derived from the paper is kept for a long period of time. Due to high strength and processability derived from the metal base material, and high aesthetic appearance unbelievable for a metal plate derived from the paper, the paper-laminated metal sheet is valuable in various applications as a novel material.
