  • Patent number: 5739892
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved eyeglasses frame structure whose articulated joint between the temple and the front can be formed without recourse to soldering, and therefore, such eyeglasses frame structure is advantageous to the making of frames of metals or alloys of poor solderability. For example each temple has a pivot axle bent and rising from its front end. A joint piece is connected to each rim or lens, and has a pivot hole made at its intermediate portion. The temple is pivotally connected to the joint piece by inserting the pivot axle of the temple in the pivot hole of the joint piece. The temple can be opened until it abuts the upright end of the joint piece to be held in alignment with the joint piece. Thanks to no soldering required frames can be made at an increased efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5728990
Abstract: Method and apparatus for machining steel-ball guide grooves in guide rail portions of a linear-motion stage, whose movable member performs linear motions with respect to other movable members. In accordance with this method, first, a lower plate (2), which is an immovable member of the linear-motion stage, and an upper plate (3), which is a movable member thereof, are inserted into a recess portion (25) of a work holding element (21) in such a way that guide rail portions (4 and 5) are faced to each other. Then, the positional relation between the lower plate (2) and the upper plate (3), which are in a fixation state, is established by a pressing unit (31) and a pushing unit (32). Subsequently, a wire is inserted between the guide rail portions. Moreover, the work holding element (21) is caused by a two-dimensional motion device to perform a two-dimensional motion in a horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 5726732
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved structure for coupling some selected parts of a pair of glasses, particularly for fixing a lens to an associated rim and at the same time, the rim to the joint piece, to which one or the other temple is hinged. The rim has a loop hole at its outer side, dividing the rim circumference into upper and lower rim halves. The rim has two broach sections fixed to the opposite ends of the upper and lower rim halves, and the joint piece has a hollow coupler member to permit the broach sections to be press-fitted therein, thereby holding the lens inside the rim. Two catch pins are fixed to the inner sides of the adjoining rims. These catch pins are inserted into the lateral holes of the opposite ends of the bridge, thus detachably connecting the bridge to the adjoining rims.

  • Patent number: 5659380
Abstract: An improved joint structure of frameless spectacles for connecting a joint section of a temple or a bridge to an associated lens is described. In order to improve productivity requiring no soldering and to prevent causing no stress in the lens, a bolt is inserted in an engagement aperture of the joint section of the temple or bridge, and in an engagement aperture made in the temple-to-lens or bridge-to-lens jointing area of the lens to be tightened by an associated nut. The engagement apertures and the bolt having such a shape that relative rotation may be prevented between the joint section, the lens and the bolt.

  • Patent number: 5503493
Abstract: Synthetic resin structural members are inserted into a hollow joint member to abut each other in the joint member. A bearing-pressure damping member is fitted into each of bolt holes on the members, axes of bolts extend alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions. The structural members and the hollow joint member are secured with bolts and nuts. Due to damping action resulting from elastic deformations of the damping members, a load is substantially evenly distributed over the whole bolts to prevent concentration of the load to some of the bolts. The arrangement of the bolts with their axes extending alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions will shorten the length of the joint member.

  • Patent number: 4970765
Abstract: A machine tool having pallets each being movable between machining region and non-machining region. At the machining region, there are provided a movable column which supports a spindle head, and a stationary table confronting the column. In front of the stationary table, a workpiece handling station is provided which defines the non-machining region. When one of the pallets is positioned at the machining region for machining to the one of the workpieces, another pallet is brought to the non-machining region, where already machined workpiece is replaced by a new workpiece, and the another pallet is again introduced into the machining region while the first workpiece is still subjected to machining. Machining to the new workpiece is achievable by simply moving the column within the machining region.
