  • Patent number: 4393342
Abstract: A motor for driving a garage door is controlled by a control unit, which counts the time required for the garage door to move between an upper limit switch and a lower limit switch. The control unit sets a comparison reference time on the basis of the time thus counted, and controls the motor in such a manner that the motor driving does not continue for a period of time longer than the comparison reference time.

  • Patent number: 4386398
Abstract: An automatic door operation control apparatus is disclosed which comprises a door operating device a driving device for opening and closing the door, a condition detector for detecting a condition under which the movement of the door by the driving device is required to be discontinued, and a main control device for issuing a driving command to the driving device to actuate the same as required in response to a condition detection signal from the condition detector. The apparatus further comprises an auxiliary control device for stopping the operation of the driving device in the event that the main control device fails to issue a command to the driving device to stop the door movement within a predetermined length of time in response to the condition detection signal from the condition detector.

  • Patent number: 4383206
Abstract: A motor for operating the door is controlled for forward and reverse rotations and stoppage by a control circuit responsive to an operation command signal, an upper-lower limit signal, an obstruction detection signal and a maximum drive time over signal, thus controlling the door stepwise for opening, stoppage, closing, stoppage and opening in that order. Upon generation of an obstruction detection signal or a maximum drive time over signal during the closing operation, the control circuit controls the motor in a manner to open the door for a certain period of time, and subsequently upon application of an operation command signal, the control circuit is set in a manner to open the door again.

  • Patent number: 4352167
Abstract: A number of sound detectors are provided on an external enclosure of a pressure vessel of a nuclear reactor. Output signals produced from the individual detectors are combined into a pattern in terms of time difference of the detector output signals relative to the time point at which the detected signal is first produced in response to the sound signal and relative peak values of the detector output signals relative to the magnitude of the output signal produced by the detector which detects the sound signal with the highest sensitivity. The pattern thus obtained is then compared with patterns which have been previously prepared by intentionally producing the sound signals at locations in interest within the pressure vessel, to thereby estimate the location within the pressure vessel at which the sound is produced.

  • Patent number: 4307151
Abstract: A novel enzyme-active fibrous material is proposed comprising fibers of a rtially aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol as the support and an enzyme adsorbed and bonded thereto such as glucose isomerase, invertase, urease and the like. The enzyme-active fibrous material of the invention is readily prepared by dipping fibers of the partially aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol in an aqueous solution of the desired enzyme. The enzymatic activity and the physical properties of the fibers are remarkably improved by the use of extra-fine fibers prepared with composite fibers of a partially aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol and a polyethyleneoxide subjected to selective leaching away of the latter component or by the use of so-called sheath-and-core type or side-by-side type composite fibers of which one of the components is a partially aminoacetalized polyvinyl alcohol.

  • Patent number: 3975328
Abstract: Disclosed is a method whereby a vinyl compound such as an .alpha., .beta.-carbonyl compound, acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile is polymerized in a non-protonic organic medium in the presence of an alkali metal alcoholate as the polymerization catalyst. High polymers having different stereospecific structures contained at a desired ratio as well as low polymers having regulated stereochemical structures are manufactured from vinyl compounds such as above mentioned by selecting reaction conditions such as the kind of organic medium to be used and the amount of the catalyst in use based on that of the charged vinyl compound.

  • Patent number: 3962389
Abstract: Method for producing ceramics such as pottery, tiles, bricks and refractory materials which comprises the steps of: mixing in water inorganic fine particles having a negative .zeta.-potential in water and cationic cellulose pulp having a .zeta.-potential of +20 mV or higher; then forming a particle sheet material from said mixture in water using a sheet forming machine; firing said particle sheet material in an oxidizing atmosphere to burn off the cellulose pulp component in said sheet material; and firing further said particle sheet material to sinter the remaining inorganic fine particles. The use of said cationic cellulose pulp eliminated the need of synthetic polymer binders for inorganic fine particles.
