  • Publication number: 20020198870
Abstract: An information search system enabling an information searcher to easily surely judge whether each piece of search target information searched is important to the searcher himself or herself, is disclosed. The information search system implements a function of calculating, when searching for property information on a real estate property that satisfies a search condition specified by a certain user, a degree of fitness indicating how much each piece of property information satisfies the search condition on the basis of a degree-of-fitness calculation function for that user, and a function of enabling each user to change a configuration of the degree-of-fitness calculation function for the user himself or herself.

  • Publication number: 20020138346
Abstract: A method of distributing an advertisement is capable of reliably producing a sales promotion effect for commodities carried on the advertisement. A consumer uses a terminal to download contents data from a contents server in step S1. A banner advertisement image is transmitted from a coupon management server to the terminal in step S2. The terminal displays contents and a banner advertisement on its display screen. Thereafter, the consumer uses the terminal to access a shop Web site server, and acquires contents data including a commodity list in step S3. The coupon management server transmits coupon information to the terminal in step S4. The terminal displays the commodity list and the coupon information on the display screen. When settling information is transmitted from the terminal to the coupon management server, the coupon management server carries out a settling process.

  • Publication number: 20020035691
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system wherein each of a reservation server that makes reservations of sales and purchases, a portable terminal owned by a user who makes a reservation, and a shop terminal provided in stores where goods are sold, and a service or entertainment is provided, is connected to a communication network whereby the user makes a reservation for sales or purchase by accessing the reservation server, the reservation server encrypts contents of the sales/purchase reservation and transmits the encrypted reservation information to the aforementioned portable terminal, the user presents the transmitted encrypted reservation information to the shop terminal, visiting the shop terminal, and the shop terminal accesses the reservation server to confirm whether the presented encrypted reservation information is legitimate or not and admits the presenter of the encrypted reservation information if the reservation information is legitimate.

  • Publication number: 20020026414
Abstract: The above-described objects of the present invention are achieved by, in an authentication system for authenticating users who are parties to a transaction, an authentication method includes the steps of (a) supplying a first user with a matching key for a prospective transaction, (b) receiving at a second user the matching key supplied to the first user; and (c) matching the key supplied from the first user to the second user against the key supplied to the first user, after the second user has received the key from the first user.

  • Patent number: 6234003
Abstract: When a seal is inserted onto a shaft, load applied to a chuck is detected by a load cell, and based on the detected load, the turnover of a lip is judged. More specifically, an operation of inserting and pulling out the seal is performed several times on the shaft. Pull-out force is detected at the time of the last pull-out operation and insertion force is detected at the time of the last insertion operation. If the detected value is greater than a predetermined value, it is judged that the lip has been turned over. Also, a ratio between the aforementioned pull-out force and insertion force is computed. If the value of the computed ratio is less than a predetermined value, it is judged that the lip has been turned over.

  • Patent number: 6226851
Abstract: When a seal (10) with a lip (10A) is slid onto a shaft (14), the seal (10) is first slid from a D-cut portion (14C) to the end of a shaft body (14B) contiguous to the D-cut portion (14C), and then is slid at a first speed (at 40 mm/s) from this end to a position in which the seal (10) does not come into contact with a large-diameter portion (14A) of the shaft (14). Since there is a strong possibility that the lip (10A) of the seal (10) will have been completely curled at this time. the seal (10) is pulled out at a second speed (at 10 mm/s) on the shaft body (14B) from this position toward the D-cut portion (14C), and the seal (10) is again slid inward at a third speed (at 70 mmls) from this position to an appropriate position. Thus, the seal (10) is slid without the lip (10A) being curled. The sliding operations at the second and third speeds may be performed a plurality of times.
