  • Patent number: 8923656
Abstract: The production of a cutting pattern of a graphic placed upon a cutting mat is disclosed. A source image of the graphic overlaid on a cutting mat is received, and includes a plurality of registration marks as well as one or more distortions introduced during acquisition. The registration marks are identified from the source image by matching candidate sets of a plurality of center points of regions of adjacent groupings of pixels within the source image against predetermined positional relationships thereof corresponding to an actual arrangement of the registration marks on the cutting mat. An inverse transformation of the source image with values derived from the registration marks is applied. A corrected image aligned to physical coordinates of the cutting mat and referenced to the cutting machine is generated. A cut path is defined from vectors of the corrected image, and transmitted to the cutting machine for execution thereon.

  • Patent number: 8711992
Abstract: A phase noise extraction apparatus and technique that extracts phase noise induced by a component of a transmitter from a radio frequency (RF) signal and attenuates noise induced from other sources. The RF signal is digitized, modulation is removed, and the carrier is suppressed to provide a noise signal including the phase noise and the noise induced from the other sources. A complementary autocorrelation operation is applied to the noise signal to attenuate the noise from the other sources. The correlated signal is transformed into the frequency domain to generate a power spectrum of the phase noise that may be measured or displayed.

Abstract: An organic light-emitting element including an organic light-emitting layer, a transparent substrate, and a transparent electrode disposed between the organic light-emitting layer and the transparent substrate; and which treats the surface of the transparent substrate on the opposite side from the transparent electrode as a light-extraction surface. The transparent substrate has birefringence, and has a refraction index of a P polarized light that is less than a refraction index of an S polarized light. A polarized light wherein an oscillation direction of an electric field is parallel to a laminated surface of the light-emitting layer is designated S polarized light, and a polarized light that includes a vector of the direction of the progression of the light and in which the oscillation direction of the electric field is included in a plane perpendicular to the laminated surface is designated P polarized light.

  • Publication number: 20130279651
Abstract: According to a method for manufacturing a metal grating structure of the present invention, in filling a concave portion formed in a silicon substrate (30), for instance, a slit groove (SD) with metal by an electroforming method, an insulating layer (34) is formed in advance on an inner surface of the slit groove (SD) as an example of the concave portion by a thermal oxidation method. Accordingly, the metal grating structure manufacturing method is advantageous in finely forming metal parts of the grating structure. A metal grating structure of the present invention is manufactured by the above manufacturing method, and an X-ray imaging device of the present invention is incorporated with the metal grating structure.

Abstract: In an organic EL element, at the interface between a first electrode and a light-emitting layer, a diffraction grating with grating constants a, b, and c is provided in the form of surface irregularities on the first electrode. The grating constants are determined such that, when the effective refractive index as light experiences in the organic EL element is n, with respect to the periods d01, d10, and d1?1 defining the periodicity of the diffraction grating, n×d01 corresponds to a red region and n×d10 and n×d1?1 correspond to a blue to green region.

  • Publication number: 20090135487
Abstract: A diffraction grating device for splitting or coupling light beams permits the divergence of the light beams to be minimized easily. A first light beam is incident on a diffraction grating from the side thereof facing the inside of the device, and a second light beam is incident on the diffraction grating from the side thereof facing air. The diffraction grating transmits the first light beam by diffraction of the minus first order so that it travels in the reverse direction along the optical path of the second light beam before incidence, and transmits the second light beam by diffraction of the zero order. The second light beam, transmitted by diffraction of the zero order, spreads over a certain width of wavelengths, but does not diverge even after diffraction.
