  • Publication number: 20030190901
Abstract: A direct conversion receiving unit includes an oscillation circuit (50) whose oscillation frequency fvco is (N/(N+1))×fR, where fR is a receiving frequency. The output of the oscillation circuit (50) is divided into two parts, one of which is converted to the frequency of (1/(N+1))×fR by a divide-by-N circuit (52). Mixing the two frequencies (1/(N+1))×fR and fvco=(N/(N+1))×fR generates the frequency fR, which is supplied to conversion mixers (38 and 44) as a local input. The receiving unit requires only one oscillation circuit, and excludes all the circuits that handle a frequency higher than fR, enabling a small size and low current consumption configuration.

  • Patent number: 6628959
Abstract: If position detection is performed correctly, connection switch 161 is connected through a control signal and transmit power control circuit 162 carries out transmit power control based on reception power of a signal combining direct wave signals and delay wave signals. If position detection is not performed correctly, connection switch 161 is disconnected through a control signal and transmit power control circuit 162 performs transmit power control only based on reception power of the direct wave signals. Thus, it is possible to make reliable position detection compatible with reduction of interference in reception processing of signals of other stations.

  • Publication number: 20030171118
Abstract: Signals from distributed radio sections (102-1-102-N) are sent to a demodulator (1031) of BTS (103). In the demodulator (1031), maximum ratio combining is performed with respect to each signal after radio reception processing. That is to say, since, in conventional DHO, demodulation processing is performed individually in each BTS and demodulated data after the demodulation processing is sent to RNC, where selection diversity is performed with the demodulated data, maximum ratio combining cannot be performed during the demodulation processing in BTS. However, the present invention is configured such that a single BTS processes signals received in distributed antennas, so that the demodulator (1031) can perform maximum ratio combining with respect to every signal after radio reception processing, thereby improving the reliability of the demodulated data.

  • Publication number: 20030165185
Abstract: An angle detection circuit 202 detects the phase component of an in-phase-added pilot signal. A phase computation circuit 203 performs phase computation processing using the phase component of the in-phase-added pilot signal and a pilot block weight coefficient to obtain a channel estimate phase component. An absolute value computation circuit 204 detects the amplitude component of the in-phase-added pilot signal. An amplitude computation circuit 206 adds the amplitude components multiplied by pilot block weight coefficients to obtain a channel estimate amplitude component. A vector conversion circuit 207 converts the obtained phase component and amplitude component to a vector to obtain a channel estimate.

  • Patent number: 6614770
Abstract: The base station apparatus compresses one-frame information of a broadcast channel to blocks of ½ of one frame or less and repeatedly sends this block in a one-frame time. The mobile station apparatus decodes the received signal in block units or added block units to carry out error detection. The mobile station apparatus receives and adds up the next block in the case that the error rate exceeds a threshold. The mobile station apparatus repeats this until the error rate falls below the threshold. When the error rate falls below the threshold, the mobile station apparatus stops reception of broadcast channel signals and uses the rest of time until a one-frame time elapses to monitor carrier information of a different mobile communication system for handover.

  • Publication number: 20030125006
Abstract: A communication apparatus is provided which employs two oscillators to generate a transmission signal and a reception signal, and prevents harmful spurious components from being produced. As shown in FIGS. 9A and 9B, the oscillation frequency fVCO2 of a VCO 2 is given by fVCO2=N×(2×fDD), where fDD is the difference between the transmit frequency fT and receive frequency fR. A 3/(2×N) frequency multiplier outputs a signal with a frequency 3×fDD, and a divide-by-N circuit (2/(2×N) frequency multiplier) outputs a signal with a frequency 2×fDD. Thus the transmit intermediate frequency fTIF is given by fTIF=3×fDD, and the receive intermediate frequency fRIF is given by fRIF=2×fDD. The oscillation frequency fVCO1 of a VCO 1 is fCH. The transmit frequency fT is given by fT=fCH+fTIF=fCH+3×fDD. The circuit can prevent a transmission spurious problem to its own reception band.

  • Publication number: 20030123422
Abstract: An information delivery method whereby wireless channel traffic is dispersed when data is downloaded from a contents server to mobile communications terminals by way of a mobile network and a cable network. Information delivery management section (103) provided in the mobile network temporarily stores a downloading request for the server or data that is output from the contents server while monitoring traffic in wireless channels or in the cable network. The user of a mobile communication terminal sets a maximum time period that allows downloading to be carried out. When traffic is light in wireless channels within the allowable time, the data is delivered to the mobile communications terminal.

  • Patent number: 6584088
Abstract: In the CDMA Radio Multiplex Transmission, transfer function of line is inferred by using common pilot signal and synchronous detection is performed accordingly. The transmitting end transmits by periodically insering pilot symbols into one channel only of multiplexed channels. The receiving end infers line condition (transfer function) from the received pilot symbols and, on the basis of the information thus obtained, performs synchronous detection of each channel multiplexed.
