  • Publication number: 20030103485
Abstract: In the CDMA Radio Multiplex Transmission, transfer function of line is inferred by using common pilot signal and synchronous detection is performed accordingly. The transmitting end transmits by periodically inserting pilot symbols into one channel only of multiplexed channels. The receiving end infers line condition (transfer function) from the received pilot symbols and, on the basis of the information thus obtained, performs synchronous detection of each channel multiplexed.

  • Publication number: 20030096635
Abstract: A base station transmits downlink signals to mobile terminals of users A to C with respective transmission power corresponding to downlink quality. A downlink quality estimating section (106) uses the transmission power from a transmission power control section to compare transmission power between the users, and estimates that a terminal with low transmission power has high downlink quality. The priorities are determined so that the priority is increased as the transmission power is lower. Thus determined priority information is output to a scheduling section (107). The scheduling section (107) performs scheduling based on the priority information. The section (107) assigns DSCH to terminals in ascending order of transmission power. User A is first assigned DSCH, user B is second assigned DSCH, and user C is third assigned DSCH. It is thus possible to perform scheduling and MCS selection of DSCH with the need of information from a terminal eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20030083074
Abstract: A determination section 301 determines whether or not a DSCH has been assigned to the communication terminal apparatus in question, and outputs a signal indicating the result of that determination to a transmission controller 102, and the transmission controller 102 changes as appropriate the degree of frequency of transmission of a signal containing shared channel information according to the result of determination by the determination section 301. That is to say, the transmission controller 102 outputs a signal containing shared channel information to a modulator 103 with a high degree of frequency when the DSCH has been assigned to that terminal, and outputs a signal containing shared channel information to the modulator 103 with a low degree of frequency when the DSCH has not been assigned to that terminal.

  • Patent number: 6552684
Abstract: Spatial profile creation section 102 creates an intensity distribution, that is, a spatial profile or spatial information of reception signals with respect to the directions of arrival of signals using reception signals prior to despreading received via antenna elements 101-1 to 101-4. Direction of arrival estimation section 103 estimates the directions of arrival of signals sent from other parties of communication from the spatial information created by spatial profile creation section 102 and divides and outputs the information of the directions of arrival to reception units 104-1 to 104-4 according to the direction of arrival. Beam formers 111 in reception units 104-1 to 104-4 each rotate the phase of the output reception signals from antenna elements 101-1 to 101-4 at predetermined angles based on the information of directions of arrival and combines these rotated reception signals so as to increase the reception levels of the signals sent from the directions of arrival.

  • Publication number: 20030072266
Abstract: In a receiving side apparatus 150, reception quality of receive data is measured by a reception quality measurement section 157, receive data errors are detected by an error detection section 156, and when an error is detected a retransmission request signal and reception quality signal are transmitted multiplexed with transmit data by a transmit frame creation section 158. In a transmitting side apparatus 100, when a retransmission request signal is received a capacity necessary for demodulating data in a receiving side apparatus 150 is detected from a reception quality signal by a scheduling section 110, and data is retransmitted at that capacity. By this means it is possible to reduce the number of data retransmissions during transmission and reception, and to improve transmission efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20030067971
Abstract: A selector 301 select one a directional signal corresponding to a group to which a transmission signal belongs on a path-by-path basis. A despreader 302 provides despreading to an output signal of the selector 301. A RAKE combiner 305 provides RAKE combing to a despread signal, and a determining device 306 provides temporary determination to the signal subjected to RAKE combing. A re-spreader 308 spreads a replica signal subjected to temporary determination. A divider 309 divides replica signals on a path-by-path basis to correspond to the directivity selected by the selector 301. Adders 310-1 and 310-2 add the replica signals divided by the divider 309 on the directivity-by-directivity. This makes it possible to cancel interference in combination with an array antenna and to reduce the number of calculations and the circuit scale as an entirety of the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20030068993
Abstract: A path search processing section 110 of a searcher 108 performs despreading processing for a signal that has undergone AAA reception by an MF 110a. A power addition circuit 110c adds power of a signal in which coherent addition of a despread signal has been performed, and outputs the result to a delay profile circuit 110d and also to threshold value decision circuit 111. Outputs from respective threshold value decision circuits 111 are output to a combining circuit 112. A power combination value combined by the combining circuit 112 is output to a delay profile circuit 113, and a delay profile is created based on this power combination value. A finger assignment circuit 114 finds despreading timing for AAA reception weight control from the delay profile.

  • Patent number: 6545991
Abstract: Spreading sections 104 and 105 of the base station spread the respective distributed data using mutually orthogonal spreading codes and they are transmitted from antennas 106 and 107. Despreading sections 202 and 203 of the mobile station despread the received signals using the same spreading codes as those used at the base station, demodulation sections 204 and 205 demodulate the despread signals, received signal power measuring sections 207 and 208 measure their received signal powers from the demodulation result, received signal power measuring section 209 combines the measured received signal powers and transmit power control section 212 controls transmission power based on the combined received signal power. When carrying out diversity reception through a plurality of antennas at the base station, this suppresses transmit power control errors to a small level at the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6539234
Abstract: A first reception power measuring section 206 measures reception power of individual channel signals transmitted with a narrow directivity, and a second reception power measuring section 207 measures reception power of common channel signals transmitted with a wide directivity. A determining section 210 determines the presence or absence of a directional shift based on an average reception power of the individual channel signals and an average reception power of the common channel signals. A transmission power controlling means 211 performs transmission power control based on the determination result. This makes it possible to correctly determine the cause of a reduction in reception power and to control transmission power accurately.
