  • Patent number: 12225024
Abstract: A first dataset that includes an indication of a plurality of network events associated with a time-period is received. For each time sub-period from a plurality of time sub-periods that together span the time-period and to generate a second dataset, a value for each network event from the plurality of network events that occur within that time sub-period is summed. A discrete Fourier transform is performed based on the second dataset to generate a third dataset that includes an indication of a plurality of frequency ranges and a plurality of magnitude values for the plurality of frequency ranges. Each frequency from the plurality of frequencies ranges is associated with a magnitude value from the plurality of magnitude values. A set of candidate frequencies from the plurality of frequencies determined to potentially cause periodic behavior is identified based on the plurality of frequency ranges and the plurality of magnitude values.

  • Patent number: 12202755
Abstract: Example methods and systems for segregation and treatment of waste water streams for enhanced oil recovery are disclosed. One example method includes generating concentrated solution by treating, using a forward osmosis process, waste water of one or more gas streams from a gas plant associated with one or more gas wells, where draw solution of the forward osmosis process includes produced water from one or more crude oil production traps, and the waste water contains kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI). The concentrated solution is treated using an oxidation process to generate oxidized solution by decomposing the KHI in the waste water. The oxidized solution is injected into an oil reservoir through a water injection well for enhanced oil recovery.

  • Patent number: 12136868
Abstract: A self-powered pipeline pig includes a housing defining a trailing end, a leading end and a longitudinal axis. The plurality of internal flow channels extend longitudinally through the housing between the trailing end and the leading end. A power generation device is disposed in a first one of the plurality of internal flow channels. The power generation device generates electric power from a pipeline fluid flowing through the first flow channel during a pigging operation. A battery is disposed on the self-powered pipeline pig to provide electric power during the pigging operation to operate one or more components installed on the self-powered pipeline pig. The power generation device is electrically coupled to the battery to recharge the battery using the generated electric power.

  • Publication number: 20240252977
Abstract: A method and a system for dehydrating a gas stream while recovering energy are provided. An exemplary method includes sending a lean glycol stream to a glycol contactor, contacting a wet gas with the lean glycol stream in the glycol contactor, forming a rich glycol stream. The rich glycol stream from the glycol contactor is passed through an energy recovery unit, forming a low-pressure stream. The low-pressure stream is fed to a glycol regeneration column. Power from the energy recovery unit is used to generate a vacuum in the glycol regeneration column.

  • Publication number: 20240248467
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for validating physical flare flowmeter readings using virtual flare flowmeter predictions can include receiving physical gas flare flow measurement data from a physical flare flowmeter coupled upstream from a flare stack; receiving predicted gas flare flow measurement data from a virtual flare flowmeter; determining a quantitative deviation value between the physical gas flare flow measurement data and the predicted gas flare flow measurement data; and for quantitative deviation values less than a threshold deviation value, determining that the physical gas flare flow measurement data is accurate. The method and system can automatically identify abnormalities in any of physical flow meter (PFF) and virtual flow meter (VFF) and automatically select the accurate reading between the PFF and VFF to be used based on online plant and equipment conditions as inputs.

  • Publication number: 20240191145
Abstract: Systems and methods for crude oil desalting technology are provided. More specifically, systems and methods for the usage of waste heat from compression to treat high salinity water are provided. The systems and methods generate recycled water streams for desalter treatment. The systems and methods can treat high salinity waters from desalters and dehydrators. The high salinity streams are introduced to the compressed gas streams, where the waste heat causes the water portion of the water streams to evaporate, resulting in a fully or near-saturated gas stream and a concentrated waste water stream. The saturated gas streams are cooled and condensed, and low TDS water is separated from the gas stream in knockout drums. The low TDS water can be reintroduced to the desalting system as wash water, generating a circular water reuse.

  • Patent number: 12005407
Abstract: A flow of a chemical is mixed with a flow of a primary fluid to form a combined fluid, and during mixing a velocity of the combined fluid is maintained at a threshold value so that a resulting mixture of the chemical and primary fluid has a designated homogeneity. The primary fluid is directed to an end of a passage with a venturi like contour that is inside of a mixer, and the chemical is directed to a side passage that extends laterally in the mixer that intersects the passage. A spring loaded valve in the passage maintains the combined flow velocity at the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20240176932
Abstract: Systems and methods include a method for monitoring sensors. Readings of actual field sensors corresponding to virtual sensors of a virtual model are monitored. A deviation between an actual sensor reading (ASR) and a virtual sensor reading (VSR) is determined. When only the VSR is deviating and when sensor readings of sensors proximate to the actual sensor correspond to the VSR, then the ASR is invalid and the actual sensor requires revalidation/recalibration. When only the ASR is deviating and when sensor readings of sensors proximate to the actual sensor correspond to the ASR, then the VSR is invalid and the virtual sensor requires revalidation/recalibration. When both the VSR and ASR are deviating from design ranges and when sensor readings of sensors that are proximate to the actual sensor do not correspond to either the ASR or the VSR, then both the ASR and VSR are invalid, requiring revalidation/recalibration.

  • Publication number: 20240142417
Abstract: An automatic online analyzer validation and calibration system receives operating parameter input signals from sensors, receives a measured value of a selected process variable from a physical analyzer, determines a difference between the measured value and an inferred value of the selected process variable determined by a controller based on the operating parameter input signals using an inferential analyzer; and if the difference between the measured value and the inferred value exceeds a threshold, initiates a recalibration of the physical analyzer or recalibration of the inferential analyzer. In one example, the automatic online analyzer validation and calibration is used in a gas dehydration system to validate and calibrate a physical moisture analyzer.

  • Publication number: 20240143751
Abstract: A stream of cybersecurity alerts is received. Each cybersecurity alert from the stream of cybersecurity alerts is associated with a set of attributes. Each cybersecurity alert from the stream of cybersecurity alerts is associated, based on the set of attributes and as that cybersecurity alert is received, to a bucket from a set of buckets. Each bucket from the set of buckets is associated with (1) an attribute from the set of attributes different than remaining buckets from the set of buckets and (2) a set cybersecurity alerts from the stream of cybersecurity alerts having the attribute. For each bucket from the set of buckets, a set of correlations between cybersecurity alerts included in the set of cybersecurity alerts for that bucket are determined, based on the set of cybersecurity alerts for that bucket, to generate an attack graph associated with that bucket.

  • Patent number: 11920720
Abstract: A water hammer mitigation system includes a branch connection with ends coupled to a main pipeline, where a first end connects at a surge point on the main pipeline and a second end fluidly connects to the main pipeline at a distal point. A bi-directional surge relief device is disposed on the branch connection, and is operable to move to a first open configuration to permit pipeline fluid within the main pipeline to flow through the branch connection when surge point pressure reaches a designated pressure. The device can also move to a second open configuration when surge point pressure reaches another designated pressure.
