  • Publication number: 20210405669
Abstract: Embodiments provide a surge suppression device, a surge suppression system, and methods for operating the same. The surge suppression device includes a valve body and a plug. The plug is rotatably positioned in a hollow space of the valve body. The plug includes two surge suppression openings defining a fluid flow directed to surge suppression. Each of the two surge suppression openings includes a circular plate having a plurality of orifices. The plurality of orifices allows reduction of surge pressure when the water passes the first fluid flow path. The circular plate has a concave or convex geometry.

  • Patent number: 11161059
Abstract: A system includes a device disposed within a storage tank. The device includes a cyclonic separator and an electrostatic coalescer. The cyclonic separator is configured to receive and separate phases of a multi-phase fluid stream. The cyclonic separator is configured to induce cyclonic flow of the multi-phase fluid stream to separate the multi-phase fluid stream into a gas stream and a liquid stream. The liquid stream includes a first liquid phase and a second liquid phase. The cyclonic separator is configured to discharge at least a portion of the gas stream and at least a portion of the liquid stream. The electrostatic coalescer is downstream of and fluidically connected to the second outlet of the cyclonic separator. The electrostatic coalescer is configured to demulsify the liquid stream by causing coalescence of liquid droplets of one of the first or second liquid phases.

  • Publication number: 20080047830
Abstract: A hydrolytic cell consists of upper and lower chambers sealed from each other by a divider, with one or more openings in the divider for the passage of gas into the upper chamber. Liquid is prevented from entering the upper chamber by gas-permeable filters such as Hastelloyâ„¢ metal filters. Also disclosed is an electrode consisting either of a generally vertical stack of spaced apart perforated disks or porous metal filters such as Hastelloy filters, mounted to a conductive rod. A level sensing system us disclosed, consisting of a light source and detector which directs light into the lower chamber which is reflected off of a reflector within the chamber, such that the liquid level is detected at the level of the detector by a reduced light intensity.
