  • Publication number: 20200088029
Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying a salinity gradient in a formation surrounding a bore of a subterranean well includes introducing an antenna assembly into the bore of the subterranean well. The antenna assembly has an elongated antenna body. An emitting antenna extends axially along an outer surface of the antenna body. A receiving antenna extends axially along the outer surface of the antenna body, the receiving antenna being spaced circumferentially apart from the emitting antenna. An electromagnetic interrogation wave is produced into the formation with the emitting antenna with a pulse duration of no greater than 0.01 seconds. A reflected wave is received with the receiving antenna. The amplitude of the reflected wave is analyzed to determine a distribution of chlorine ion concentration in the formation.

  • Publication number: 20190360111
Abstract: Some examples of a method for manufacturing an electrode material for electrolytic hydrogen generation are described. Tungsten salt and nickel salt are mixed in a determined molar ratio on a carbon support by effectively controlling synthesis temperature and composition. Water and adsorbed oxygen, produced by mixing the tungsten salt and nickel salt are removed. Then, methane gas is flowed over the mixture resulting in the electrode material. The electrode material is suitable for use as a catalyst in electrolytic hydrogen generation processes, for example, at an industrial scale, to produce large quantities of hydrogen.

  • Publication number: 20190336924
Abstract: A system and method for delivering a treatment fluid to a wellbore by emulsifying the treatment fluid with a continuous fluid in a flowline. The treatment and continuous fluids are combined in a mixer that is separate from containers that retain the fluids. In an example where the mixer is a venturi, the continuous fluid flows into an inlet on an entrance end of the venturi, and the treatment fluid flows into an inlet that is at a flow restriction in the venturi. The continuous fluid experiences a localized decrease in pressure at the restriction, which is due to a localized increase in flow rate at the restriction. The pressure decrease induces the treatment fluid into the venturi, where the treatment fluid is dispersed into droplets within the continuous fluid, and that forms a treatment emulsion. The treatment fluid escapes from within the treatment emulsion when in the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10422673
Abstract: Multiphase flow regimes in downhole or surface flow lines are made identifiable by forming images of the flow based on data obtained by flow regime metering of the flow. The flow regime metering data are gathered and processed in a format in which it can be subjected to face recognition processing of the type used for recognition of the faces of persons, and also to Bayesian classification techniques. Identification capabilities are particularly enhanced in flow regimes where gas bubbles or large amounts of free gas cause clutter and multiple reflections in the metering data.
