Patent number: 12195225Abstract: A sidewall of a container for storing liquid contents includes a grip portion extending from a base of the container and presenting a grip portion periphery about an axis. A plurality of axially angulating ribs are within the grip portion, each of which includes a first portion having a first radial depth relative to the periphery that transitions to a second portion having a second radial depth relative to the periphery less than the first radial depth. A flat portion having a zero radial depth relative to the periphery is positioned circumferentially between a second portion of one angulating rib of the plurality of axially angulating ribs and an axially offset second portion of another angulating rib of the plurality of axially angulating ribs.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2023Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Niagara Bottling, LLCInventors: Jay Clarke Hanan, Naser Hossain, Ahmed Tasnub Takaddus, Mohammad Adom Safiullah

Patent number: 12139295Abstract: A preform configured to be blow-molded into a plastic bottle includes a neck section defining an opening, the neck section including a threaded portion configured to engage a closure, and a neck ring, a transition section having a first end positioned adjacent to the neck ring and a second end opposite the first end, a cylindrical body section extending from the second end of the transition section to a base, and a longitudinal axis extending from the opening through the base. The neck section, transition section, and the body section define a hollow channel positioned between the opening and the base. The transition section defines a tapered sidewall relative to the longitudinal axis, the tapered sidewall decreases a cross-sectional diameter of the hollow channel. The tapered sidewall of the transition section contains 20% to 30% of a total weight of the preform.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2022Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Niagara Bottling, LLCInventors: Peter N. Bruinooge, Mohammad Adom Safiullah

Publication number: 20240270435Abstract: An apparatus is provided for a container comprising a base, a bell, a sidewall between the base and the bell, a neck and a finish which define an opening to an interior of the container, and a shoulder between the sidewall and the bell. Strap ribs extend from a central portion of the base and terminate at the sidewall. The strap ribs cooperate with vertically aligned recessed columns of the sidewall to resist bending, leaning, crumbling, or stretching along the sidewall and the base. An inwardly offset portion of the sidewall is disposed between each pair of adjacent recessed columns. The inwardly offset portions of the sidewall are configured to resist outward bowing of the sidewall due to internal pressure of contents within the container.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Jay Clarke Hanan, Naser Hossain, Ahmed Tasnub Takaddus, Mohammad Adom Safiullah

Publication number: 20220177199Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a container closure for sealing contents within an interior of a container. The container closure comprises a closure portion coupled to a tamper evidence band by a plurality of anchors. The closure portion threadably engages a finish portion of the container and seals contents in the interior of the container. The anchors keep the tamper evidence band coupled with the closure portion. Multiple thin connections are arranged at various intervals around the circumference of the tamper evidence band and between adjacent anchors. The thin connections break apart when the closure portion is untightened from the finish portion, providing an observational indication that the container closure has been unsealed from the finish portion after having been installed by a manufacturer. The anchors remain unbroken and cause the tamper evidence band to remain attached to the closure portion upon being removed from the finish portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2020Publication date: June 9, 2022Applicant: Niagara Bottling, LLCInventors: Naser Imran Hossain, Mohammad Adom Safiullah, Sean Daley
