Abstract: Method and apparatus for dynamic polarization combining. The apparatus identifies a first polarization of a first set of antenna elements on a first side of an antenna module having two or more sides. The apparatus identifies a second polarization of a second set of antenna elements on a second side of the antenna module. The apparatus determines, for an antenna layer, a dynamic polarization combination between the first set of antenna elements having the first polarization with the second set of antenna elements having the second polarization. The apparatus communicates with a network node via the antenna module based on the dynamic polarization combination.

  • Publication number: 20240078961
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to control brightness based on image content or other inputs to a display system. A dual-control system may integrate both slow control operations and fast control operations into a cohesive brightness management system. By using both shorter-term (e.g., fast control) and longer-term (e.g., slow control) brightness adjustment operations, the electronic device may quickly respond to high luminance and high brightness situations that may cause burn-in into the display, image artifacts, or other damage. Responding quickly to these high consumption situations may prevent damage or perceivable upset to an ongoing process, among other benefits.

  • Patent number: 11909496
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). For example, the UE receives a first indication indicating a same quasi co-location (QCL) mapping for multiple receive beams corresponding to a group of transmit and receive beam pairs from a network entity. Transmit and receive beam pairs are different from each other and grouping of the transmit and receive beam pairs is based on a distance between the UE and the network entity. The UE selects one of the multiple receive beams corresponding to the group of transmit and receive beam pairs, based on the distance between the UE and the network entity.

  • Publication number: 20240054973
Abstract: An electronic device may have a display with an array of pixels. The device may have an array of components such as an array of light sensors for capturing fingerprints of a user through an array of corresponding transparent windows in the display. A capacitive touch sensor, proximity sensor, force sensor, or other sensor may be used by control circuitry in the device to monitor for the presence of a user's finger over the array of light sensors. In response, the control circuitry can direct the display to illuminate a subset of the pixels, thereby illuminating the user's finger and causing reflected light from the finger to illuminate the array of light sensors for a fingerprint capture operation. The display may have display driver circuitry that facilitates the momentary illumination of the subset of pixels with uniform flash data while image data is displayed in other portions of the display.

  • Publication number: 20240042597
Abstract: A mechanism for actuation and control of a device, such as an interventional device, in two dimensions via a cable-driven arrangement. The mechanism can include multiple spring-loaded cam followers and a conical control surface acting as the cam. The translation of the conical cam results in the perpendicular linear motion of the cam followers. With the cables coupled to the cam followers from one end, and to the device of interest at the other end, the motion of the followers results in cable displacements that lead to the manipulation of the interventional device. Adjustment of the cable lengths are made possible with a proportion determined by the cam. This allows maintaining a set tension and while avoiding sagging. The resulting system can be an entirely passive mechanism in some embodiments that allows for accurate device position control, position estimation, and haptic feedback.
