  • Patent number: 10840994
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to opportunistically selecting an antenna in an electronic device having multiple antennas. A baseband processor of the electronic device may connect to a first cellular tower providing cellular service at a first frequency using a first antenna of the electronic device. The baseband processor may then receive an indication of a handover event to a second cellular tower operating at a second frequency. The baseband processor may determine signal measurements of the second cellular tower for each antenna of the electronic device that is capable of operating at the second frequency. The baseband processor may execute a handover to the second cellular tower using the antenna associated with the best performing signal measurements. In this manner, an antenna may be opportunistically selected based on performance of the antenna, improving operation of the electronic device and quality of cellular service.

  • Publication number: 20200358751
Abstract: A key management protocol (such as KMIP) is extended to provide an extended credential type that enables an initiating (first) client device to create a credential dynamically and that can then be selectively shared with and used by other (second) client devices. Using a dynamically-created credential of this type, the other (second) devices are able to fetch the same key configured by the initiating (first) device. In this manner, multiple devices are able to create and share one or more keys among themselves dynamically, and on as-needed basis without requiring a human administrator to create a credential for a device group in advance of its usage.

  • Publication number: 20200356288
Abstract: Techniques are provided for selectively storing data into allocation areas using streams. A set of allocation areas (e.g., ranges of block numbers such as virtual block numbers) are defined for a storage device. Data having particular characteristics (e.g., user data, metadata, hot data, cold data, randomly accessed data, sequentially accessed data, etc.) will be sent to the storage device for selective storage in corresponding allocation areas. For example, when a file system receives a write stream of hot data, the hot data may be assigned to a stream. The stream will be tagged using a stream identifier that is used as an indicator to the storage device to process data of the stream using an allocation area defined for hot data. In this way, data having different characteristics will be stored/confined within particular allocation areas of the storage device to reduce fragmentation and write amplification.

  • Patent number: 10825071
Abstract: Embodiments relate to an intelligent computer platform to compute visual similarity across image objects. An object detection algorithm is utilized to identify image objects and to produce a tensor representation of the identified object. Multi-visual contextual similarity of the object is conducted to assess and determine related object images. A re-assessment of similarity is dynamically conducted in response to a product image selection. The re-assessment utilizes the tensor representations of the related object images, thereby conducting a mathematical assessment of similarity and object image identification. A final product is identified and selected based on the dynamic re-assessment and convergence on a directed outcome with minimal iterations of object interaction.

  • Patent number: 10817413
Abstract: Systems and related methods are disclosed to manage memory for an integrated circuit including a processor and logic circuitry to manage the memory. The memory includes segments available for storage of data, and the processor stores data within the memory. Logic circuitry is configured to manage the memory, forms a plurality of sections within the segments, and applies tokens to the plurality of sections. Further, for each storage operation, the logic circuitry searches the tokens to identify blocks of continuous available tokens based upon data length, selects a block from the blocks identified in the search, determines a first token for the selected block, and outputs a memory address to the processor based upon the first token. The processor stores the data at the memory address. For one embodiment, the storage operations are associated with storage of data within packets received from network communications.
