  • Patent number: 10884778
Abstract: Techniques for managing dynamically scalable virtualized compute instances within a provider network are described. A dynamically scalable instance has a baseline performance level and a maximum performance level associated with a computing resource, such as a processor, a memory, a network interface, etc. In response to receive a request to launch a dynamically scalable instance, one or more services select a computer system to host the requested instance from a pool of instance-hosting computer systems of a provider network. The instance-hosting computer systems include a monitoring agent that reports computing resource usage data to the one or more services. The one or more services monitor the resource usage of the instance-hosting computer systems and migrate instances so that the dynamically scalable instances can operate up to the maximum level of performance.

  • Publication number: 20200409864
Abstract: A central processing unit (CPU) sets a cache lookup operation to a first mode in which the CPU searches a cache and only performs an address translation in response to a cache miss. The CPU performs the cache lookup operation while in the first mode using an address that results in a cache miss. Responsive to the CPU detecting the cache miss, the CPU sets the cache lookup operation from the first mode to a second mode in which the CPU concurrently searches the cache and performs an address translation. The CPU performs a cache lookup operation while in the second mode using a second address that results in a cache hit. Responsive to detecting the cache hit, the CPU sets the cache lookup operation from the second mode to the first mode. This process repeats in cycles upon detection of cache hits and misses.

  • Publication number: 20200407694
Abstract: The invention pertains to the field of adaptive cell immunotherapy. It provides with the genetic insertion of exogenous coding sequence(s) into genetically engineered immune cells to prevent cytokine release syndrome to arise during the course of cell therapy. These exogenous coding sequences are more particularly soluble human polypeptides placed under the transcriptional control of endogenous gene promoters that are sensitive to immune cells activation. Such method allows the production of safer immune primary cells of higher therapeutic potential.

  • Patent number: 10877786
Abstract: Techniques for managing compute resource usage by virtualized compute instances within a provider network are described. A computer system connected to a provider network hosts one or more compute instances. An agent associated with the computer system obtains per-compute instance resource usage information of computer system resources such as processors, memory, and network interfaces. The agent sends the usage information to a usage management service of the provider network. The usage management service generates usage limits based on the usage information from the agent and on usage targets and sends the usage limits to the computer system. The computer system limits the resource usage of the compute instance based on the usage limits.

  • Publication number: 20200401554
Abstract: Systems and methods for sharing information from a first user account to a second user account selectively and seamlessly. The systems and methods can be implemented by server(s) that analyze electronic transactions between the first user account and the second user account to determine appropriate queries for the accounts for sharing information. Such queries can include queries for file permissions. Also, the server(s) can generate sharing instructions according to results of the queries. The server(s) can also select electronic content items for sharing according to the generated sharing instructions. And, the server(s) can direct storage of a copy of the selected electronic content items of the first user account into a data structure of the second user account, such that access by the second user account to the selected items from the first account is as seamless as accessing electronic content items originated by the second user account.

  • Publication number: 20200403931
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for managing routing of traffic between clients and resource instances when providing stateful services. For example, systems disclosed herein involve a load balancer that routes probe request(s) from clients to corresponding resource instances having access to stateful session data for a stateful session between the resource instance(s) and corresponding client(s). The resource instances may provide instance identifiers to the clients for use in generating subsequent session calls. In this way, systems described herein ensure that subsequent session calls are passed to the correct resource instances having access to relevant session information.

  • Patent number: 10873540
Abstract: Resource provider specifications, characterizing computing resources of computing resource providers, are received. The reachability of each IP address included in the received specification is determined. An agent is deployed that is operable to determine the value of each of a set of metrics in the environment of the host at which the agent is deployed. The agent determines the value of each metric of the set of metrics in the environment of the relevant host, and communicates the determined values to one or more computing devices that validate whether the resources characterized by the communicated values are sufficient to provide the performance characterized by the received specification and that each ISP router complies with a predetermined policy. For each computing resource provider validated and determined to comprise an ISP router compliant with policy, the specified computing resources are added to a pool of resources for cloud computing.

  • Publication number: 20200394160
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide techniques for maintaining consistency in a distributed system (e.g., a distributed secondary storage system). According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a first set of file system objects included in performing the requested file system operation is identified in response to a request to perform a file system operation. An update intent corresponding to the requested file system operation is inserted into an inode associated with each identified file system object. Each file system object corresponding to the inode is modified as specified by the update intent in that inode. After modifying the file system object corresponding to the inode, the update intent is removed from that inode.

  • Patent number: 10868498
Abstract: A circuit includes a comparator to compare an analog signal to a ramp signal to generate a pulse width modulated output signal and a driver to generate control signals for a plurality of power transistors. A pulse blanking circuit receives the pulse width modulated output signal. For each pulse of the pulse width modulated output signal, the pulse blanking circuit, responsive to a width of the pulse being greater than a threshold, passes the pulse to the driver. Responsive to the width of the pulse being less than the threshold, the pulse blanking circuit prevents the pulse from being passed to the driver.
