  • Publication number: 20190010923
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a data processing and control augmentation system capable of identifying overloading of one or more wind turbine assemblies and providing information to a wind farm controller to reduce a power output of each overloaded turbine. The augmentation system thus reduces the power output of each overloaded turbine and, in turn, reduces loads applied to the wind turbine assembly, such as for a period of time until conditions favorably change. A described analysis of the present disclosure is able to utilize several incoming data streams from sensors so arranged to measure wind effects on blades to calculate and compare cyclic loads to threshold limits to o keep the loads within design limits. The control strategy reduces premature failure of components within the wind turbine assembly, and can be applied across an entire wind farm, even with only a subset of wind turbine assemblies being retrofitted.

  • Publication number: 20180365139
Abstract: Techniques for constrained mutation-based fuzzing are described. Machine accesses an input file of code for testing. Machine performs multiple runs of a fuzzing algorithm using the input file and the code. Each run includes: performing a mutation of one or more bytes of the input file and determining which parts of the code were executed when the code was run with the mutated input file. Machine stores, for each run, an indication of whether the mutation caused execution of a portion of the code which was not executed prior to the mutation, Machine generates heatmap of the input file based on the stored indications. The heatmap maps each of the bytes in the input file to a value indicating whether the mutation of the byte caused execution of the portion of the code for testing which was not executed prior to the mutation. Machine tailors fuzzing algorithm based on heatmap.

  • Publication number: 20180364932
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed which allow a secondary storage system to provide data to non-production workloads in conjunction with performing data backup and protection tasks. As disclosed, a secondary storage system exposes backup data stored by the secondary storage system to other workloads, such as test and development applications, data analytics, etc. These non-production workloads can run at the same time the secondary storage system provides backup services to a primary storage system. This consolidation eliminates the need for an enterprise to deploy separate storage clusters for analytics, test and development applications, etc. and eliminates unnecessary copies of data.
