  • Patent number: 6757469
Abstract: The present invention relates in general to optical waveguide devices, which preferably are planar, e.g., optical arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs), multiplexers/demultiplexers, optical add/drop multiplexers and the like. More particularly, the present invention provides integrated optical waveguide devices having central wavelengths (or channel wavelengths) which are temperature insensitive in that they do not or do almost not shift upon temperature variations in the environment. Such devices are also called athermalized or athermal devices. Preferably, most or all parts of such devices including waveguides, cladding material and the substrate itself consist of organic polymeric materials. The devices of the invention substantially remedy the problems encountered with the limitations and disadvantages of common devices as known in the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20040053528
Abstract: An electric contact coupling for connection of a first group of electric conductors to a second group of electric conductors, and especially for use in the coupling of rail and other vehicles with one another, comprises a first plug contact carrier and a second socket contact carrier which are movable into assembly with one another to bring the plug contact elements of the first contact carrier into electric contact with the socket contact elements of the second contact carrier. The two contact carriers are arranged in respectively associated contact carrier housings. The first contact carrier is movable by a positioning mechanism axially relative to its housing to bring its contacts into engagement with the contacts of the second carrier after the two carrier housings have been brought into engagement with one another. Transversely movable closure members seal the carrier housings against the penetration of dirt and moisture when the carrier housings are uncoupled from one another.

  • Publication number: 20030176616
Abstract: The invention describes a fast curable system for the preparation of amine modified thermosettings containing triazine groups, the system comprising at least one polyfuctional organic monomeric or prepolymerized cyanate and at least one primary or secondary amine, wherein the amount of amine is selected such that the molar ratio of cyanate radicals to amine radicals is from 95:5 to 50:50, and optionally additional additives, characterized in that the amine is present in a form having a blocked or decreased reactivity which can be reactivated without reacting it with a chemical participant of reaction. Further, it is directed to amine modified thermosetting materials containing triazine groups as well as to a method for preparing same.

  • Patent number: 6430809
Abstract: A method for bonding conductors onto semiconductor components is disclosed, where an opening is provided in an insulation layer on a semiconductor component. At least one conductor extends across the opening, where the conductor is bonded onto the semiconductor component by a bonding tool, which bends the conductor in the region of the opening toward the semiconductor component. Prior to the bonding, the conductor is severed in the region of the opening.
