  • Patent number: 11849462
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive one or more downlink control information (DCI) messages scheduling downlink transmissions associated with different groups, where feedback for the downlink transmissions may be transmitted during a same time period. The UE may index the received DCI messages based on a set of serving cell indices and monitoring occasion indices, and the UE may select a DCI message from the indexed DCI messages. The UE may identify, based on an index associated with the DCI messages, a first DCI message that has a format that includes a group index field. The UE may identify, from the group index field of the identified DCI message, a group index value that indicates a first group, and the UE may transmit a feedback message that includes at least a codebook that is based on the group index value.

  • Patent number: 11849409
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive control signaling scheduling multiple uplink transmission repetitions including first and second sets of repetitions associated with first and second sounding reference signal (SRS) resource sets, respectively. The UE may determine first and second power headroom (PHR) values for the respective sets of repetitions, where at least the second PHR value is determined in accordance with a first rule as either an actual value based on a transmission power of one of the uplink transmission repetitions or a virtual value based on default transmission power settings, the first rule pertaining to PHR determination for multiple sets of repetitions corresponding to multiple SRS resource sets. The UE may generate a PHR report that includes the first PHR value, the second PHR value, or both, and may transmit the PHR report to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11844033
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for detecting a potential collision between a scheduled uplink transmission and a synchronization signal block (SSB) and transmitting the scheduled uplink transmission. For example, in cases of inter-cell multi-transmission and reception points (multi-TRP), a user equipment (UE) may not be capable of simultaneously transmitting and receiving on the multiple serving cells. A first serving cell may indicate to the UE of SSB indices that are actually transmitted for a second serving cell. If there is a slot collision between one of the SSB to be transmitted and a scheduled uplink transmission, the UE may not be able to handle such collision. The present disclosure provides techniques for detecting a potential collision between a scheduled uplink transmission and one of the SSBs and transmitting the scheduled uplink transmission when one or more conditions are met.

  • Publication number: 20230396304
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques at a user equipment (UE) provide for indicating multiple beams to a base station for communications with the base station after detecting a beam failure. Using these techniques, the UE may rely on multi-beam operation to recover communications with the base station. The UE may transmit a random-access preamble indicating a first beam for communications with the base station, and the UE may transmit a control element in a data channel indicating a second beam for communications with the base station. In some cases, the messages used to carry the indications of the multiple beams may be based on a type of random-access procedure used to recover communications (e.g., a contention-based random-access (CBRA) procedure, a contention-free random-access (CFRA) procedure, or a two-step random-access procedure).

  • Publication number: 20230397236
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Linking multiple search space sets for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) repetition may be enabled in a system. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configured search space set association from a base station. The association may indicate, to the UE, a configuration between a first PDCCH candidate and a second PDCCH candidate. The first PDCCH candidate may correspond to a first search space set, while the second PDCCH candidate may correspond to a second search space set. The UE may monitor the first and second search space set based on the configuration. The UE may combine the first PDCCH candidate with the second PDCCH candidate monitored in the first and second search space set based on capabilities of the UE and the configuration. The UE may decode the combined PDCCH candidates along with individual PDCCH candidates.

  • Publication number: 20230397204
Abstract: In a wireless network, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) may be transmitted in multiple repetitions, which may cause ambiguity in cases where a user equipment (UE) has to determine a default downlink or uplink beam to receive or transmit a data channel. Accordingly, in cases where a UE receives a PDCCH associated with a repetition configuration and the PDCCH does not include a beam indication, the UE may determine a default beam to receive or transmit a data channel scheduled by the PDCCH based on the repetition configuration of the PDCCH. For example, the PDCCH may be associated with multiple control resource sets (CORESETs) and/or a CORESET associated with multiple transmission configuration indication (TCI) states. Accordingly, the UE may determine the default beam based on one or more parameters associated with the multiple CORESETs and/or the multiple TCIs associated with a CORESET.

  • Publication number: 20230397245
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for handling hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes with discontinuous reception (DRX) operations. A user equipment (UE) may use timers to maintain an ON duration in DRX. The UE may receive, via downlink control information (DCI), an indication of a feedback transmission opportunity (TxOP) for a HARQ process. The UE may activate a timer at the end of the TxOP regardless of whether the UE transmits feedback in the TxOP to ensure that the UE remains active. In some implementations, a base station may provide the UE with multiple opportunities to transmit a feedback message. The UE may reactivate a timer after each feedback TxOP for the same HARQ process or may activate the timer after the first feedback TxOP and may refrain from activating the timer after subsequent feedback TxOPs for the HARQ process.

  • Patent number: 11838774
Abstract: A plurality of scheduled entities, such as transmission reception points (TRPs), may each transmit at least one TRP-specific beam failure detection reference signal (BFD-RS) having a corresponding TRP identifier (ID) to a scheduled entity. The scheduled entity may be configured with at least one TRP-specific medium access control (MAC) parameter. The scheduled entity may receive the TRP-specific BFD-RSs and respective TRP IDs associated therewith. The scheduled entity may measure each BFD-RSs and count beam failure instances associated with each TRP ID. The scheduled entity may transmit a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) associated with the respective TRP ID in response to a predetermined quantity of respective TRP-specific BFD-RS measurements of at least one of the respective TRP-specific BFD-RSs being less than a predetermined value. A scheduling entity may receive the BFRQ, where the at least one TRP-specific MAC parameter was used to trigger the BFRQ.
