  • Patent number: 5924800
Abstract: A ball bearing for a small size fan for supporting an axis of rotation of an impeller is formed of four or five balls (21), a crown-shaped cage (25), an inner ring (22), and an outer ring (23). By using an optimized number of the balls (21) under the working condition of a ball bearing for a small size fan, structually useless portions are eliminated. Further, by adopting the crown-shaped cage (25), reduction of the cost and the friction torque is attained, and a ball bearing having necessary and sufficinet durability is provided. By incorporating the ball bearing in a small size fan, reduction of the cost, simplification of the structure, and reduction of the electric power consumption of the small size fan are facilitated, thereby improving the commerciality as a small size fan.

  • Patent number: 5280732
Abstract: A column type change lever mechanism mounted on a tiltable steering shaft assembly having an upper steering column arranged to be tiltable upwardly or downwardly at a tilt center axis. The column type change lever mechanism is composed of a shift arm rotatably mounted on the upper steering column, a manual change lever connected to the shift arm to be operated for rotating the shift arm, a bell crank mounted on the upper steering column in such a manner as to be rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the tilt center axis and a central axis of the upper steering column and having a first arm pivoted to the shift arm and a second arm pivotally connected to one end of a forwardly extending push-pull cable the other end of which is operatively connected to an automatic transmission of an automotive vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5025678
Abstract: A column shift lever device operatively connected to an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle and supported by a steering column which has a tiltable upper portion supporting a steering wheel. The column shift lever device includes a shift lever; a tubular control shaft having at least one axially extending elongate hole formed therethrough; an inner shaft accomodated within the tubular control shaft, which has a fastener member protruding therefrom through the above-indicated at least one elongate hole, so that the inner shaft is axially movable relative to and rotatable with the control shaft; a stationary cylindrical outer casing for rotatably supporting the control shaft at a portion thereof below the tiltable upper portion; a detent device having a detent pin for locking the shift lever in one of a plurality of shift positions corresponding to a plurality of operating positions of the automatic transmission.

  • Patent number: 4732232
Abstract: A tiltable shift lever assembly for operating a transmission of a vehicle, including a shift lever disposed between a driver's seat and a front passenger's seat, so as to extend generally upward when placed in its operative position. The shift lever is supported pivotally about a first pivot axis substantially parallel to a transverse direction of the vehicle. The shift lever has an upper portion having a knob, a lower portion operatively connected to the transmission, and a coupling connecting the upper and lower portions such that the upper portion is pivotable, about a second pivot axis substantially parallel to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A fixed guide member is disposed above the coupling of the shift lever, and has a guide slot formed in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The upper portion of the shift lever extends through the guide slot, and is guided by the guide slot for a pivotal movement of the shift lever about the first pivot axis.
