Patent number: 8275758Abstract: A communications system is provided which can search for information about a communications device that is not registered in a network by designating time. The search system, which includes a plurality of communications devices, gateways and an entity management server, can execute a search method. The entity management server stores in a storage device the identification information of the communications device sent from the gateways with establishing correspondence with notification time. The entity management server receives from a mobile terminal the identification information of the communications device and designated time. The entity management server searches for the identification information stored in the storage device at the designated time, and identifies the location information of the gateways corresponding to the identification information included in the search request.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2006Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: NTT DoCoMo, Inc.Inventors: Akimichi Tanabe, Motoshi Tamura, Atsushi Iwasaki, Makoto Koushiro

Patent number: 8275133Abstract: When a network pages the temporary user mobile identifier of a mobile station, the mobile station sends a response to the network. Next, the network checks the authenticity of the user using a ciphering key, corresponding to the temporary user mobile identifier and a random number. If the temporary user mobile identifier is authenticated, a normal incoming call acceptance procedure is executed. If the mobile station is authenticated although the temporary user mobile identifier is wrong, the network reassigns a new temporary user mobile identifier to the mobile station and stops the current communication. In communication, the network and the mobile station mutually notify encipherment-onset time and negotiate about encipherment manner with each other. In addition, diversity handover is commenced upon a call attempt. Furthermore, if a branch replacement is necessary, the current branch is replaced by new branches capable of executing the diversity handover.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2006Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: NTT Docomo, Inc.Inventors: Motoshi Tamura, Mutsumaru Miki, Akiko Okamoto, Kenya Kusunose, Akihiro Uchikoshi, Daisuke Igarashi, Katsuhiko Yamagata, Takaaki Sato, Junichiro Hagiwara, Yasuyuki Watanabe, Takuya Hamajima, Masafumi Hata, Nobutaka Ishikawa, Yoshiyuki Yasuda, Kazufumi Yunoki, Nobuhide Uchiyama

Patent number: 8090373Abstract: A mobile station for communicating with base stations simultaneously in diversity handover. The mobile station monitors radio condition quality corresponding to a plurality of branches, selects one or more addition branch candidates based on the monitored radio condition quality. The mobile station arranges the addition branch candidates in order of the monitored radio condition quality; notifies a center of information on said plurality of branches including said addition branch candidates, the addition branch candidates being notified in the arranged order. Alternatively, the mobile station obtains a relative value of each of the addition branch candidates indicative of order of precedence to be used for the diversity handover based on the monitored radio condition quality of said addition branch candidates; and notifies a center of information on said plurality of branches including said addition branch candidates and their relative values.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2010Date of Patent: January 3, 2012Assignee: NTT Docomo, Inc.Inventors: Tomoyuki Ohtani, Motoshi Tamura, Takaaki Sato

Patent number: 8045963Abstract: Irrespective of the current situation of a recipient, a message storing service can be actively used by an originator's will, and the recipient can know without a delay that a message addressed to the recipient has been stored. A service for message originator can be specified so that even if a mobile communication terminal device on a recipient side is in a state where it can immediately perform communication when a message is transmitted from a mobile communication terminal device on an originator side, the message is temporarily stored in a message storing box of a telephone answering service subscribed to by a subscriber A as the originator of the message, and the message is delivered to the mobile communication terminal device on the recipient side at timing intended by the originator A.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2008Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignee: NTT DoCoMo, Inc.Inventors: Takuji Sakaguchi, Aya Hokamura, Masami Yabusaki, Motoshi Tamura

Patent number: 7873014Abstract: A handover method for controlling communication between a mobile station and base station(s) in a wireless communication system. The method includes measuring signal qualities transmitted from the base station(s), the measured signal qualities including a measured quality of a signal received from a certain base station; identifying the base station as an addition candidate based on the measured quality exceeding an addition threshold; thereafter detecting that the measured quality of the signal received from the addition candidate has further exceeded an active threshold which is greater than the addition threshold. The active threshold is determined in accordance with a quality of a signal transmitted from one or more active base stations. In response, the base stations are notified of information about the addition candidate; and a handover process is performed on the bases on this information.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2007Date of Patent: January 18, 2011Assignee: NTT DoCoMo, Inc.Inventors: Tomoyuki Ohtani, Motoshi Tamura, Takaaki Sato

Patent number: RE43296Abstract: A branch candidate selecting method by a mobile station and a diversity handover control method on a network side in DHO performance are provided which consider a maximum cable branch number and maximum radio branch number of the mobile station, when the mobile station detects the plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates. The mobile station inserts a plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates, that is, all the DHO candidates into one handover trigger signal, and notifies the network. The addition branch candidates are put into addition information parameters in the handover trigger signal, and the deletion branch candidates are put into deletion information parameters. To simplify processing on the network side, the network side separates the addition branch candidates from the deletion branch candidates, and carries out sequential processing of them independently.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2009Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: NTT DoCoMo, Inc.Inventors: Tomoyuki Ohtani, Motoshi Tamura, Takaaki Sato
