  • Publication number: 20030156569
Abstract: When packet sending and receiving apparatus 21 sets a connection, timing control apparatus 22 generates a timing information Tf as the packet is dispersed equivalently. Timing control apparatus 22 notices the timing information Tf to packet sending and receiving apparatus 21 and base station 3. Packet sending and receiving apparatus 21 carries out a packet generating processing in accordance with a frame offset value which is indicated by the timing information Tf. Therefore, the packets in which a packet transmission timing is averaged in a packet transmission period arrives to packet multiplex apparatus 23. Consequently, it is possible to decrease a waiting time of the packet multiplex transmission. Therefore, it is possible to use efficiency a transmission link L1, while being satisfied the required service quality.

  • Publication number: 20030157936
Abstract: A branch candidate selecting method by a mobile station and a diversity handover control method on a network side in DHO performance are provided which consider a maximum cable branch number and maximum radio branch number of the mobile station, when the mobile station detects the plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates. The mobile station inserts a plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates, that is, all the DHO candidates into one handover trigger signal, and notifies the network. The addition branch candidates are put into addition information parameters in the handover trigger signal, and the deletion branch candidates are put into deletion information parameters. To simplify processing on the network side, the network side separates the addition branch candidates from the deletion branch candidates, and carries out sequential processing of them independently.

  • Patent number: 6591104
Abstract: Disclosed is a mobile communication system including a network constituted of at least one switching center and a plurality of base stations, and a mobile station which communicates with the base stations simultaneously. The system permits varying transmission delay between the switching center and the base stations according to the type of services available to the mobile station. The object of the present invention is to propose a communication which permits varying transmission delay according to the type of service currently employed, and to promptly recover a synchronization state even if an out-of-sync state happens. To attain the object, a memory means (mobile switching center processor 32) stores transmission delay characteristics corresponding to services which are available to the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6310859
Abstract: Control of a packet communications network in a fixed network used by a mobile communications network is performed. (1) A communication hold mode is set for a user when the traffic volume of the user's transmission or reception of a packet per fixed time period is less than a predetermined value. The communication hold mode is defined as “although the network resources are released once, a mobile station and a gateway center at an interface with an external network behave to the user side and the external side as though the communication hold mode were maintained”. (2) When the user in the communication hold mode restarts the transmission of a packet, the mobile station automatically carries out a recall processing without the intervention of the user, and re-establishes the communication up to the gateway carrier.

  • Patent number: 5909428
Abstract: A short cell management unit capable of carrying out OAM (operation, administration and maintenance) functions on short cell connection basis (newly defined F7 flow) included in VC (virtual connection) in addition to OAM functions on VC basis (F5 flow) which are defined in a conventional B-ISDN. The F7 flow includes the entire OAM functions such as fault management, performance management, which are included in F4 and F5 flows that carry out the management by causing a standard OAM cell defined in the existing B-ISDN to flow. To implement this, a variable length OAM cell is newly provided as one of the short cells, and a base station and a switching office are newly provided with a short OAM cell/standard OAM cell translator for carrying out mapping between the short OAM cell and the standard OAM cell. Furthermore, a generally used standard OAM processor is used for implementing the management functions (F4 and F5 flow) defined in the standard B-ISDN.
