  • Publication number: 20190306898
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for Internet resource sharing between multiple subscribers, for example, a first subscriber and a second subscriber, each of which may be in active communications with a cellular network or in a standby mode. It may be determined whether to use an internet connectivity provided by the first subscriber for an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service on the second subscriber. The second subscriber may conduct the IMS service via internal hotspot provided by the first subscriber or via the second subscriber's own cellular network, or switch between the two. A packet data network connection may be established to transport IMS data and signaling between the second subscriber and a gateway of the second network through the first network.

  • Patent number: 10405147
Abstract: A tracking device has a first transceiver, a second transceiver, and control logic. The first transceiver can transmit a first tracking signal for locating the tracking device to mobile devices via a first network. The mobile devices provide the first tracking signal to a tracking server. The second transceiver can transmit a second tracking signal for locating the tracking device to the tracking server via a second network. The control logic can configure the tracking device in a first state in which the first transceiver transmits the first tracking signal, and the second transceiver is disabled and does not transmit the second tracking signal. In response to determining that the tracking device cannot connect to the tracking server via the first network, the control logic configures the tracking device in a second state in which the second transceiver is enabled and transmits the second tracking signal.

  • Publication number: 20180268254
Abstract: A method for segmenting a projected pattern in an image recorded by a camera includes recording, by a camera in a learning phase, a multiplicity of images produced by virtue of a light source projecting the pattern from a plurality of different angles onto a projection surface in a clean room, wherein the projection surface has a plurality of respectively different distances from the light source for each angle; transforming the multiplicity of images into a frequency domain representation; obtaining a value range of occurring frequencies from the frequency domain representation of the multiplicity of images; and masking, in an application phase, frequencies other than the frequencies lying in the value range in a frequency domain representation of the image recorded by the camera, wherein a difference image produced in this manner is transformed back from the frequency domain representation.

  • Publication number: 20180070327
Abstract: A wireless communication device may have at least a first subscriber identification module (SIM) and a second SIM associated with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource. The wireless communication device may determine whether some or all of a critical radio resource control (RRC) control message from a first network supported by the first SIM was missed during a tune-away. In response to determining that some or all of a critical RRC control message was missed during the tune-away, the wireless communication device may start a downlink expiration timer, determine whether the downlink expiration timer has expired without receiving sufficient information to complete the critical RRC control message. If so, and if the modem stack associated with the first SIM has lost downlink synchronization with the first network for a number of consecutive radio frames, the wireless communication device may declare a radio link failure for that SIM.

  • Patent number: 9747125
Abstract: A first computer of a plurality of computers in a server computer system may be associated with a first user on an exclusive basis. An administrator of the server computer system may utilize an administrative user interface in order to specify the association. Associating the first computer with the first user on the exclusive basis may prevent users other than the first user from using the first computer. In response to receiving a request from the first user to connect to the server computer system, the system may operate to determine that the first computer is associated with the first user on the exclusive basis and may assign the first computer to the first user. Once the first computer has been assigned to the first user, the first user can begin using the first computer. In some embodiments the first computer may be a physical computer. In other embodiments the first computer may be a virtual machine.

  • Publication number: 20160188084
Abstract: A capacitive touch panel is tested for the presence or absence of short and open circuits in drive and sense lines without the use of a tool that touches the surface of the panel. During a first stage of testing, drive lines of the touch panel are sequentially driven while the remaining drive lines are floated. Sense lines are read to indicate whether a driven drive line is shorted to an adjacent drive line, an open circuit, or coupled to a sense line that is an open circuit. During a second stage of testing, drive lines are driven while alternate sense lines are floated or enabled. The signals on the enabled sense lines are acquired to indicate whether the enabled sense lines are shorted to adjacent sense lines. This second stage can be repeated, switching the roles of the sense lines, to determine the locations of short and/or open circuits.

  • Patent number: 9369127
Abstract: Transducers formed as part of a touchscreen system emulate the motion of a pushbutton or other mechanical elements. A touchscreen system positions a transducer adjacent to an icon displayed on the touchscreen surface. When a user touches the icon, the transducer senses the touch and is then deformed in a pattern that emulates a mechanical motion, giving the user the sensation of touching a mechanical button. An excitation signal applied to the transducer is compared to a target excitation signal that, when applied to the transducer, causes the transducer to emulate the desired motion. When any differences between the two signals are detected, the excitation signal is adjusted so that the motion is corrected. The target excitation signal, or time and voltage segments defining it, are stored in memory and retrieved for comparison. The excitation signal is also selected to reduce any acoustic artifacts that can cause the transducer to generate audible clicks.

  • Patent number: 9043391
Abstract: System and method for capturing and/or restoring session state of a machine without using image files. Session state information for a first computer system may be captured in a structured state capture file (SSCF) using metadata to represent the session state and steps or actions which produced the session state, and does not include a memory image or memory dump of the first computer system. The SSCF may be stored, and subsequently provided for restoration of the session state on the first computer system or a different computer system. A server computer system may store the SSCF (with other SSCFs) and may provide the SSCF to the first computer system or a different computer system over a network for session state restoration, e.g., in response to a request over the network. The first computer system may implement a virtual machine (VM). The session state may be that of the VM.
